Biology Teachers To Meet At PC All teachers of Biology or Life Sciences are invited to attend the fall meeting of the South Carolina Association of Biology Teachers (SCAB!) in Room 206 of Presbyterian Col lege’s Richardson Mall of Science on Saturday, November 7, at 10:30 A.M. Dr. James Sidham, chairman of the Biology Department, Pro fessor A. B. Stump of the Bio logy Department, and Dr. Dorothy Brant, Associate Pro fessor of Education, will pre sent a program of Concepts of Preparing the College-Bound Student*. Before luncheon at the college cafeteria, the teach ers will tour the modern facili ties of the recently constructed Richardson Mall of Science. TUESDAY - Milk, fish fillet, black eye peas, whipped po tatoes, biscuits, butter and fruit cup. WEDNESDAY - Milk, Ham burger with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, buns, FF potatoes, tomato catsup, butter and Peanut butter cookie. THURSDAY - Milk, chicken pie with eggs and noodles, eng- lish peas, carrot and celery sticks, strawberries in Jello with topping, biscuits and butter. FRIDAY - Milk, chili beans with ground beef, tomato paste, cole slaw with carrots and cab bage, hot rolls, butter and banana pudding. Headquarters has instructed local boards that a young man wishing to drop a deferment in favor of a I-A classification should be permitted to do so at any time regardless of whether he continues to meet the con ditions for which his deferment was granted. Colonel Donald H. Collins, South Carolina State Selective Service Director, says that all local boards throughout South Carolina have received instruc tions to promptly consider for reclassification any registrant who requests in writing that his current deferment be ended and Kenneth F. Fincannon, son of Mrs. Eva M. Lanier of Clinton and the late Fred Fincannon, has been named Assistant Director of Manufacturing for Homes of American Corp., leading pro ducer of manufactured housing headquartered in Whiteville, N. C. one of the following classes: Class I-S, Class n-A (Includ ing apprentices), Class II-C, Class II-S, or Class III-A. A young man who holds a 1970 random sequence number higher than 195, or a number higher than the highest number reached for induction by his own local board in the 1970 draft lottery, may find it to his advantage to voluntarily give up his deferment in exchange for Class I-A, thereby allowing him to progress to a lower draft priority.
