C. where they have been spending the past five months at their summer home. Mr. and Mrs. Davis V. Pitts, Mrs. Ethel Pitts and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bonds attended a tea in Easley on Sunday for Mrs. C. M. Ellison who celebrated her 80th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Jacobs, Mrs. Pringle Copeland and Mrs. Larry Dillard visited Miss Peg gy Dunlap of Rock Hill on Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wells and children, Marjorie Ann and Donnie of St. Petersburg, Fla. Mrs. Arthur Haupfear ofCoro- naca, Mrs. Arnold Cole and son Arnie of Greenwood visited Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wells Sr. over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Whitfield have returned from vacationing in St. Petersburg, Fla. On their return they visited Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Frost in Swainsboro, Georgia, Mrs. Whitfield’s cou sin. Mr. and Mrs. David Trice of Fayetteville, N. C. spent the week-end with Mrs. Earle Workman and accompanied their daughter Linda Hunter home. She had been visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Workman here for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Car- son of Gastonia spent Sunday with her sister, Mrs. John Roseboro and Mr. Roseboro. Mr. and Mrs. Adrain Giles and little son, David have re turned to Albany, Ga., after spending a week with their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Giles and Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Frazier near Joanna. Miss Florence Blakely of Durham, N. C. spent Friday with her uncle, Mr. Aldine Blakely. Also visiting Mr. Bla kely and other relatives over the weekend were Dr. and Mrs. Henry B. Burton and daughter, Ann of Boone, N. C. Collie Lehn, Joey Lee and Miss Mary Ann Orr have re sumed their studies at Furmar University, Greenville, aftei spending the summer at home. Mr. and Mrs. Goyne Simp son, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hart and Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Neely have returned from Litchfield Beach where they spent sev eral days at the Neely home. Jessamine Club Give Yearbooks The Yellow Jessamine Gar den Club met Monday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Marion Lawson, Hopewell Road, with Mrs. W. C. Shealy co-hostess. The president, Mrs. Henry Cronic, conducted the afternoon meeting. The 1970-71 Yearbooks were given out and and assign ments made to the committee chairman present. Mrs. Barrie Wingard was a guest. Delicious refresh ments were served following the meeting. Iris Garden Club Views Film The September meeting of the Iris Garden Club at the home of Mrs. Gerald Carter. Mrs.Clif- ford Harbin was co-hostess. A very interesting film en titled "The Wonderful World of Flowers” was shown by Mr. Bob Simmons. A gift of flower bulbs was presented to Mr. Simmons. Mary Ray was program chairman. Miss Shelia Ann Campbell became the bride ofWilgus Harron Fortney at a candle light ceremony Saturday, Sept ember 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Broad Street United Methodist Church. The bride, the daughterof Mr. and Mrs. William B. Camp bell of407Shand Street, Clinton, was given in marriage by her father. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fortney of Combs, Kentucky. Fur her wed ding, the bride selected a Came- lot gown, fashioned of candle light silk organza, alencon lace and pearls. It featured a low scalloped neckline and sheer lace adorned Camelot sleeves. Appliques of Alencon lace and pearls embellished the A-line skirt and chapel train. The soft silk illusion finger tip veil was attached to a lace and pearl trimmed Camelot Cap. Her bouquet was made of Starburst pompoms centered with a white orchid, which she lifted from her bouquet for a corsage for the wedding trip. Her attendants selected gowns of orchid chiffon with purple velvet vests. The long sheer sleeves and empire waists were banded with mat ching flower braid. The orchid tulle head pieces were adorned with a large purple velvet bow. Their bouquets were of of modi fied cascade with hot pink to deep purple astus, ivy and cen tered with a lighted candle under a hurricane lamp. Mrs. Emily Campbell, sis ter-in-law ofthe bride, was Ma tron of honor and June Campbell, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Brides maids were Miss Penny Camp bell, sister of the bride, Misses Carol and Janice CampbeU of Willistoo, cousins of the bride, Miss Mary Jo Humphries cou sin of the bride, Miss Linda Deason of Laurens and Mrs. Martha CampbeU, sister-in- law of the bride.
