Pam Shook had a significant
part in the play.
Mrs. Russell Emerson and
Mrs. David Roberts visited with
Miss Kay Roberts last week in
Atlanta. Joining them for the
weekend were Mr. Roberts and
Mr. Emerson.
Spending two weeks in Con-
necticutt recently were Mr. and
Mrs. Alfio Undari and Mr. and
Mrs. Larry Savelkoul.

this week. Dr. Brown is an ho

tion and for the past nine years
has served on a committee
which selects recipients of col
lege scholarships given by the
broadcasters.

the Editor of Ramifications, the
Berry College literary year
book, for the 1970-71 school
year. Mrs. Lora Wickham, wife
of Michael, is the art editor for
the publication.

Mrs. William Schroeder of

Dowdeswell, will intern at Med
ical University Hospital in
Charleston beginning July 1.

lines trimmed in Veniselace.
Their headdresses were Gibson
girl style bows with Veniselace
trim.

Julia Frances McKee of Atlanta
cousins of the bride,attended as
bridesmaids with Mrs. Richard
Felder Cecil Jr. of Columbia
and Mrs. John Frank Bivens Jr.

dants.

Mrs. Dowdeswell, who was
presented by the Spartanburg
Debutante Club in 1962, has!
been employed for two and one-
half years as research librarian
with Coca-Cola USA in Atlanta.
She was graduated from Spart
anburg High School, Mary Bald
win College inStaunton, Va., and
Katherine Gibbs School in New
York.
She is the daughter of the
former, Miss Jean McKee and
granddaughter of Mrs. J. D. Mc
Kee, Sr. of Clinton.
Dr. Dowdeswell received an
M. D. degree from Medical Uni
versity of South Carolina in
Charleston. He was graduated
from Spartanburg High School
and University of South Car
olina.
The number of women in ap
prenticeship programs regis
tered with the Labor Depart
ment rose to 1,800 in 1969,
an over-the-year increase of 72
percent. The ranks of female
apprentices include plumbers,
aircraft mechanics, and even
embalmers.
