Bob and Melody of An derson spent a couple of days last week in Charleston enjoy ing the various sightseeing tours. On Saturday July 4, Mr. and Mrs. McLendon and Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Harvey and Di anne were at the opening of the Piedmont Exhibiton Park on Ro per Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Richie spent a few days vacationing in Gatlinburg, Tenn., last week. Sgt. and Mrs. Coy O'Shields and family have returned to their home in Manassas, Va., after visiting her mother, Mrs. Stella McLendon and other re latives. Mr. and Mrs. Llndy Barlowe and Misses Debbie and Cindy Barlowe and Vickie Wilson and Russell Campbell spent several days at Myrtle Beach last week. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Parrish and Tami vacationed at Silver Springs, Fla., and surrounding towns. They also enjoyed a tour of the Budweiser Beer Plant in Tampa, Fla, and Rainbow Springs. Mike Crawford vacationed at Myrtle Beach part <>f last week. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Goss and Brian and Wells Goss of Tucker, Ga., spent the weekend with the Mr. Goss's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goss. On Saturday, July 4 they all en joyed a picnic dinner at Green wood State Park. Mr. and Mrs. MelvinSeay and family enjoyed several days of camping at Clark Hill last week. On Friday they visited Mr. and Mrs. James Seay in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. William Bowling and family vacationed at St. Petersburg, Fla., last week, they also visitedpointsof interest enroute there and back. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kuy kendall ufColumbia were guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.C. R. Kuykendall during the week end. Mrs. Verner Dees spent last week with her daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Willard in Asheville, N. C. and Bill Willard return ed home with his grandmother for a visit. During the week they visited points of interest through the mountains and also attended the opening of The Wi zard of Oz at Banner Elk, N. C. Mrs. Tracy Dees and child ren returned home Sunday after joining S/Sgt. Dees in Hawaii where he was on his R&R. Art Sanders and Rudy Webb were at Myrtle Beach for the weekend. Mrs. Lula Bishop spent the weekend with her grandson, Mr. A1 Williams and Mrs. Williams in Anderson. Friends of Al’s will be interested to know that tie is now manager of Ander son’s Ladies Ready to Wear in Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Satter field, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sat terfield and children and Mrs. Larry Gambrell and son visit ed Mr. and Mrs. David Sat terfield in Dalton, Ga. on Fri day and the remainder of the weekend of June 27-28 at Look- Out Mountain at Chattanooga, Tenn., seeing Ruby Falls and Rock City while there. The Melvin Satterfields, the Jerry Satterfields and the Al vin Satterfield family spent the Fouth weekend at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Oakley and family of Rock Hill visit ed his mother, Mrs. Sidney Oakley on last Thursday. Mitch Oakley remained until Sunday with his grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Abercrombie of Fountain Inn visited Mrs. Oak- lev on Saturday. Mrs. Billy Dickerson and daughter Leigh Ann are here with Mrs. Mildred Dickerson for six weeks while Sgt. Dick erson is on duty in Ft. Bliss, Tex. Mr. and Mrs. Major Craw ford spent a couple of days in Nashville, Tenn., then they and Mr. and Mrs. Terry Crawford and Missy and Mr. and Mrs. Reece Phillips went to Chatta nooga, Tenn.,-for a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. O’Shields were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Pace in Hendersonville, N. C. last week. They also vi sited in Cherokee, N. C. Mrs. Clyde Trammell with Mr. and Mrs. William Stone and children and Phil Trammell of Anderson spent Wednesday of last week at Gold City, N. C. Claude Bennett and grand sons, Randy and Larry Lambert of Chicago, HI. are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballard and also Mrs. Bennett who has been here several weeks with her parents. Renee and Don Lark of Ra leigh, N. C. spent a few days with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. P. Lark recent ly. The Larks vacationed at Stone Mountain, Ga. and Gatlin burg, Tenn. last week. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sharpe Jr. and sons of Charleston spent the weekend 1 with the formers grandmother, Mrs. Mack Har ris. Mr. and Mrs. Columbus Hughes and family with his mo ther, Mrs. Eunice Hughes and brother, Mr. John Hughes and Mrs. Hughes and children of Laurens spent a couple of days last week visiting points of in terest in the mountains. Rev. and Mrs. Clyde Thomas and Emily of Denmark visited relatives in the community last week and also attended some services of the Church of God Camp Meeting in Mauldin. Mr. and Mrs. Don Snider and Tami spent a few days at Myr tle Beach last week. Mr. and Mrs. Snider also went to Rock City in Chattanooga, Tenn. Mrs. Annie Lawson and Mrs. Sarah Jenkins spent a few days in the North Carolina and Tennessee mountains last week. Pvt. Richard Blackwell of Ft. Gordon, Ga. spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Ernest Blackwell. E-7 Joel Blackwell left Sat urday for California to leave from there for Vietnam. Mrs. Ernest Blackwell, Pvt. Richard Blackwell and Mr. and Mrs. Joel McElhannon and children spent a couple of days at Folly Beach in Charleston. Mr. and Mrs. Willie Edmunds and family of Atlanta, Ga. were weekend guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Edmunds. Mrs, W. L. Motte and Mrs. Janet Reeder and John visit ed their son and brother, Billy Motte at the Veteran’s Hospi tal in Augusta, Ga. on Monday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Davd Storay and family of Greenville accom panied her mother, Mrs. Mary Fallaw home on Friday fol lowing her visit with them. They remained until Saturday after noon and Pam and Kim remain ed for a longer visit with their grandmother and uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fallaw. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walker and Miss Mary Walker with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wrenn and Dana Mann of Waterloo spent Sunday at Ft. Gordon, Ga. with the Walkers son, Pfc. Jimmy Walker. C. who is visiting her sis ter Mrs. John Word. PRAYER GROUP TO MEET The Missions Prayer Group of the Lydia Baptist WMS will meet at the home of Mrs. M. J. Sanders, Tuesday evening at i 7:30 p.m. All members are urged to attend. All the ladies of the church are invited to join the WMS and one of the groups. Community Action Consolidates Program Ofices The Laurens County Com munity Action, Inc. is consoli dating the offices for its var ious programs in Laurens and moved Wednesday to its new lo cation on South Harper Street Extension, next door to the National Guard Armory, it was announced by Robert L.
