Mr. and Mrs. George Pruitt of this city and Mrs. Grace Freeman of Ninety-Six spent the weekend with Mrs. Pruitt’s sister, Mrs. Mack Stapelton in Lumber City, Ga. Saturday guests of Mrs. Ada Center were Mr. and Mrs. Ru fus Smith of Greer. Those enjoying Father’s Day with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hughes were Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Smith of Mountville and Rev. and Mrs. James T. Hughes and family of Gray Court. Mrs. Luke Fuller of Green wood is spending a few days with Mrs. Ada Center and daughters. Sunday guests of Mrs. Gay- nell Kohn were Mr. and Mrs. Belton Kinard of Pomaria and Mrs. Martha Barbery of Clin ton. Robin and Deborah Kohn returned home with theKmards for a weeks visit. Mr. and Mrs. David Owens were at Duke Hospital in Dur ham, N. C. where she was a out patient for two days last week. She has to go back in three weeks. Miss S>tul Windsor ofChapeU Hill, N. C. spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Windsor. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Hames are in Charleston today going especially for Mrs. Hames’ check-up at the Medical Cen ter. Mr. and Mrs. L'irranee Peace and children -f Greenville spent Father 's Day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Hames. Wanda, Libby and Raymond Duvall Jr. returned Saturday after spending a week at Youth Camp at the Church of God of Prophecy Camp ground ui Batesburg. Mrs. Hubert Leopard and Mrs. Clifton Heaton Sr. and children spent Tuesday of last week, with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Derrick and son Ronnie in Prosperity. Mr. 0. L Godfrey and son of Ninety-Six enjoyed Father’s Day dinner with Mr. Godfrey's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Whiten and family. Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Cara ballo of Key West, Fla., are spending several days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W, M. Williams. Also visiting the Williams on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Williams of Greenville and Mr. and Mrs. Butch Lanford of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Ful mer and children, Barbara and Dale of Johnston spent Father’s Day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Leopard. On Sunday Mrs. L. H. Pear son and Mrs. Doris Robertson of this city and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Norwood and children of Laurens visited Mrs. Pear son’s daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Paul Painter in Gaffhey. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Laney and Mrs. Judy Hooper attended the funeral of Mr. Fl^d Hozey in Anderson, Sunday. He is the brother-in-law of Mr. Laney. WITH THE SICK George Ellis Barnett Jr. had his tonsils removed last week at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Friends of Mr. Ralph Bear den will be interested to learn that he has returned home after being a patient at Bailey Me morial Hospital. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Vacation Bible School began June 22 and will run through June 26 at the Church of God of Prophecy on North Sloan Street Bible School begins each evening at 7:30 Everyone of all ages are invited to attend. Rev. Raymond Duvall is pas tor of the church. PRESENTS PLAY On Sunday night, June 28, at 7:30 the young people of the Church of God of Prophecy on North Sloan Street will present a play entitled “A Single Soul”. The pastor, Rev. RaymondE. Duvall, gives the public an in vitation to attend. MANLEY - LYDA On Friday evening, June 12, Miss Joy Berdell Manley and James Edward Lyda were united in marriage. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward P. Man- ley. The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Ly da. The young couple are making their home at Copeland’s Trailer Park.
