Cornelson was the setting for a tea to introduce 23 debutantes who will be formally presented at the annual Debutante Co tillion, December 30, 1970. The occasion opened the de butante season which is spon sored each year by the G>- tillion Club of Clinton. The debutantes for the 1970 season are: fcflss Jfcin"Abrams who at tends Clemson University where she is majoring in ele mentary education. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Edward Abrams of Joanna. Miss Jan Alexander, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. William Abit Alexander, a student at Winthrop College where she is a pre-school education major. Miss Brenda Wier Baldwin, a history major at Limestone College whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eakm Baldwin. Miss Frances Edna Cauley, majoring in pre-school educa tion attends Coker College and is the daughter of Frank Edd Cauley and the late Mrs. Cau ley. Miss Sara Patricia Davis is a student at Clemson University where she is majoring in ele mentary education. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Epps Brown Davis. Miss Ida Bessie Edenfield, majoring in elementary edu cation at Georgia Southern is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John David Edenfield. Miss Mary Susan Felknor whose parents are Dr. and Mrs. Lollis Herring Hardy of Cam den, attends Presbyterian Col lege. Her major is undecided. Miss Kathryn Virginia Gault attends Columbia College and her major is pre-school educa tion. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Gault. Miss Joy Godfrey Gault is a studenl at Coker College, maj oring in secondary education and her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Calhoun Folk Gault Miss Martha Elizabeth Hiers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Curry Hiers, who is a business administration major at Presbyterian College. Miss Caroline Butler Hughes attends Wmthrop College where she majors in psychology. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter Moorehead Hughes. Miss Sara Weldon Jackson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wel don Thomas Jackson, is a stu dent at Coker College and her major subject is elementary education. Miss Janice Lee King, music major at Brenau College, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Govan King Jr. Miss Jean Katherine Man- gum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harleigh Jacobia Mangum, is majoring in elementary educa tion at Coker College. Miss Gloria Dale Nabors, also an elementary education major, attends WinthropCol- lege and her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carson Nabors. Miss Mary Lou Simpson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hunter Simpson, is a history major at Clemson University. Miss Virginia Gale Smith at tends Limestone College and her major is art. Her parents are Mr.andMrs. MilfordSmith. Miss Rhonda Elaine Mills, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Mills, Sr. Miss Susan Lynn Undari is a student at Winthrop College where she is majoring in phy sical education. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfio Undari. Lt. JgC. T. Mortem flew from Mirmar Naval Air Station in San Diego, Calif, last weekend to Shaw Air Force and spent the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Elsie J. Morton and Mrs. H. T. Johnson and returned Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Adair have returned from a two weeks trip. By auto they went to Wichita, Kan., to visit their son, Lt. Jim Adair and Mrs. Adair. He is currently stationed at Mc Connell AFB. From there by plane they went to Los Ange les, Calif, for a three day visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Milam who reside at San Marino. They enjoyed seeing the highlights, such as Disneyland, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hunting- ton Library and Art Gallery, Tuesdale Estates at Beverly Hills, then returned to Wichita by the Sante Fe Train. Tommy Addison who attended Darlington School, Rome, Ga., is home for the summer with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Addison. Mrs. Kitt R. McMaster of Winnsboro is spending this week with her mother, Mrs. Hugh Simpson. Bob Keller and Bob Grubbe left Friday for a trip to Cali fornia, stopping at many in teresting spots enroute. In Cali fornia they will visit the for mer’s aunt, Mrs. MaryNaugh- ton in Garden Grove near Los Angeles. Mrs. W. P. Coker has re turned to her home in Canton, N. C. after spending several days with her mother, Mrs. W. N. McDaniel. Miss Rose Lee left last week for Grantville, Ga. where she will make her home. Mrs. Bill Horne and sons, Billy and Mike of Barksdale AFB, La., left Tuesday for several weeks visit with her mother, Mrs. Guy Hancock, Jr. and Mr. Hancock on Isle of Palms following a visit with Capt. Horne’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Horne. Miss Mary Bailey Vance is an art major at Converse College and her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mercer Vance. Miss Rebecca Lynn Willing ham, a business major at Co lumbia College, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Earle Willingham of Joanna. Invited guests called between the hours of four and six o’ clock. Receiving guests in the living room, main hall, and den were the debutantes and their mothers or sponsors. Arrange ments of mixed summer flowers and magnolias were used throughout the house and porch. Assisting Mrs. Cornelson with entertaining during the af ternoon were members of the Debutante Committee and other members of the Cotillion Club. They were Mrs. Reese H. Young, Mrs. Louis Stephens, Mrs. J. B. Arnold, Mrs. James Von Hollen, Mrs. Robert Grube, Mrs. Thomas F. Hollis, Mrs. Judson Davis, Mrs. R. Edward Ferguson, Jr., Mrs. E. N. Sul livan, Mrs. Alexander Hamil ton, Mrs. Michael Turner, Mrs. James Walker, and Mrs. James MacDonald. Mr. and Mrs. Frank F. Fow ler and Mrs. Georgia Young attended the Millard-Cooper wedding in St. Petersburg, Fla. Mrs. C. B. Few of Jackson ville, Fla. is spending several weeks with her sister, Mrs. J. V. Lowe and Mr. Lowe. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Harris visited her sister, Mrs. Charlie Reed and family in Ocala, Fla. Her niece, Melita, accompanied them home for a visit. Mrs. MaryRoberts, Mrs. Ann Crawford and Mr. Henry Fallow enjoyed a fun filled day Sunday at the Isle of Palms in Char leston with Mrs. Crawford’s children, Patty and Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Mack Gaffney spent several days recently in Bozier City, La. with Capt. and Mrs. Charles Gaffney and Donna. Capt. Gaffney is sta tioned at Barksdale AFB, La. Mr. and Mrs. JamesT. Smith of Columbia spent the weekend with her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Holland. Toge ther they attended the Thornwell Homecoming Celebration. Mrs. Robert Wysor spent several days last week with Miss Margaret Kent Bell in Asheville who accompanied her home for a visit. Mrs. R. S. Owens of Summer ville is spending several days in Clinton visiting relatives and friends. Miss Margaret Purcell Bethea of North Augusta spent several days last week with Mrs. W. W. Harris. Guests of Mrs. Harris on Saturday were Mrs. George Senn of Belfast Road, Newberry, Elizabeth, Foster and Wilson. With the ex ception of Wilson they all at tended “Sleeping Beauty” at the local theatre. DEAN’S LEST STUDENT Mrs. Virginia Babb Marin, student at Chaminade College, Honolulu, Hawaii has been cited for outstanding scholarship in making the Dean’s list. She is the daughter of Mrs. S. P. Babb of Centennial St. Mrs. Babb is the former, Mary Lee Wright of Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. John Roseboro spent several days last week in Gastonia, N. C. as guestsofher sister, Mrs. EverettCarsonand Mr. Carson. Recent guests of the C. Roy Jenkins were his son, Berle D. Jenkins, who flew a piper cub plane to Greenwood last week from his home in San Angelo, Tex., Mrs. L. R. Booker,Clem son College; J. P. Moore of Asheville, N. C.; Mr. W. J.
