RELIGIOUS PROGRAM The Religious Program was held at Hebron Baptist Church on Sunday at 5 p.m. The president, Rev. J. W. Watts, presided dur ing the business session and the general singing. Mrs. Mary B. Rice gave the welcome address and Mrs. Lee R. Gilliam responded. Many ministers were in attend ance. The next meeting will beat Bush River Baptist Church. CLUB MEETS The Ladies Alert Club met re cently with Mrs. Azalee Sanders on Tribble Street. A lovely hostess gift was pre sented to Mrs. Sanders by Mrs. Veola Watts. Miss Claire Wilson and Miss Christine Miller assisted in serving the tasty refreshments. Thanks were expressed to Mrs. Turner for the wonderful assis tance given in preparing the re freshments. Miss Eva Sanders will enter tain the next meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Babe Young of Union were in the city on Sun day. They came especially to at tend the funeral of the late Miss Izola Taylor. Johnny Brown spent the past weekend in Columbia where he visited Miss Lydia O'Bryant and family. A recent graduate of Be nedict College, he is now employ ed at Sanders High School, Lau rens. Mrs. Lillie Johnson continues ill at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Griffin Moore on South Bell St Mrs. Edna Simpson, Augustus Simpson and Lorenzo Simpson of Baltimore, Md., and Sgt_ Willie J. Simpson of Peace AFB, New Hampshire are in Mountville with their mother, grandmother, Mrs. Pearl Simpson who is indesposed. Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Miss Izola “Sank" Taylor who was funera- lized at Hebron Baptist Church Sunday Feb. 22 at 2:30 p.m. Pfc. and Mrs. CharlesE. Lind say of Thomasville, N. C., visit ed Mr. and Mrs. Eddie B. Rice on the weekend. Pfc. Lindsay who has been stationed in Vietnam was called home due to the death of his mother-in-law and will return to Vietnam upon the ter mination of the leave. Jacob Moore observed a birth day on Feb. 17.
