Winn of Clinton. Other survivors include his wife and a son. He was adminis trative assistant of Soil Conser vation Service. Burial was held at Henderson, N.C., on Tuesday, Jan 6. * * * C. C- Harvey WARE SHOALS - Clinton C. Harvey, 55, died in Athens, Ga., Sunday. He was a half-brother of Robert Clark of Clinton. Other survivors include a son, a daughter, and another half-bro ther. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Parker-White Fun eral Home with burial in Ware Shoals Cemetery. * * * Mrs. Bright GREER - Mrs. Esther R. Bright of 209 Delano Ave., Greer, died Wednesday, Jan. 7. She was the mother of Elzie L. Bright of Clinton. Mrs. Satterfield Mrs. Ruth Ramey Satterfield, 59, of Rt. 1, Greenwood Highway, wife of Mart T. Satterfield, died Saturday. A native of Oconee County, daughter of Mrs. Florence Ra mey Ervin of Edgefield and the late Thomas Ramey, she was a retired employee of Lydia Mill and a member of Bellview Bap tist Church. Surviving also are a son, James D. Satterfield of Clinton; three daughters, Mrs. George Avery and Mrs. Dewel Proffitt of Clin ton and Mrs. Raymond McKittrick of Suffolk, Va.; six sisters, Mrs. Marcus Fraiser of High Ridge, Mo., Mrs. Claude Kernell of Clinton, Mrs. Y. D. Rhodes of North Augusta, Mrs. ParksWhis- nant of Johnston, Mrs. Furman Brown of Laurens and Mrs. Larry Towery of Memphis, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at Bellview Baptist Church with burial in Rosemont Cemetery. * * * Mrs. Fuller Mrs. Lula Grant Fuller, 69, of 215 S. Bell St., died Wednes day, Jan. 7. Other survivors include a bro ther. Funeral services were con ducted Thursday at Jones Mortu ary with burial in Hillcrest Me morial Gardens. * * * Claude Gillespie EASLEY - Claude Gillespie, 76, of Route 2, Easley, died Tues day, Jan. 6. He was a brother of Lee Gillespie of Clinton. Other survivors include his wife, two sons, three daughters, three other brothers, five sis ters, 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Rock Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. She was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church, daughter of the late Willie and Lola Grant. She was a member of Women’s Aid Society Lodge 73 and Laurens Aid Society Lodge 1. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hattie Mae Ling of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Willie Mae Wilson of Clinton; and a brother, Huery Grant of Clinton. Funeral services were held Sunday at St. John’s Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. * * * I. B. White WINNSBORO - James Benja min White, 58, died Thursday. He was the father of Miss Rosa Taft White of Clinton. * * * A. A. Barker A. A. Barker, 81, of Rt. 1, Clinton, died Friday. A native of Dahlonega, Ga., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Barker, he had lived in Clinton since 1930. He was a re tired employe of Clinton Mill, a Baptist and a member of the Old Timer’s Club. He is survived by four daugh ters, Mrs. Glenda Ward, Green wood; Mrs. Dorothy Davis, Vir ginia Beach, Va., Mrs. Opal An derson, Newberry; Mrs. Mary Ellison, Stewart, Fla.; eight sons, Claude, Charlie, Marcell, Ru dolph, Pete, and Arthur Barker all of Clinton; Leroy of Haw thorne, Nev. and Sam Barker of Laurens; one brother, F.C. Bar ker of Dahlonega, Ga.; one sis ter, Mrs. Clydie Trammell, Dah lonega, Ga.; and 30 grandchild ren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery. A native of Charleston, he was a former president of the S. C. City Managers Association and was a partner in New Con struction Co. He was city man ager of Winnsboro in 1959. Other survivors include his wife and a son. Funeral services were con ducted Friday at St. Johns Epis copal Church with burial in St. Stephens Episcopal Churchyard in Ridgeway. The family requests that me morials be sent to Whitten Vill age in Clinton. * * * Mrs. Weir GREENVILLE - Mrs. Kath erine Taylor Weir, 48, died Sun day. Mer chant, 83, of Rt 1, Kinards, died Friday at Newberry. Born in Newberry County, son of the late George W. and Dal las Perkins Merchant, he was a retired farmer and a member of Bush River Methodist Church. Surviving are four sons, A. J. Merchant of Spartanburg, Wil son Merchant of Laurens, Wood- row Merchant of Newberry and Robert Merchant of Kinards; two daughters, Mrs. Calvin McNeill of Greenwood and Mrs. William West of Leesville; a sister, Mrs. Irvin Bishop of Kinards; and 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at Bush River Baptist Church. Burial was in Newberry Memorial Gardens. * * * Mrs. King Mrs. Virginia King, 46, of Clin ton, wife of Arthur King, died Thursday. She was born in Newberry County, daughter of the late Eli jah and Alice Price. She was a member ofLow Zion A ME Church in Newberry County. Surviving are three sisters, Miss Lillie Mae Price, Miss Rachel Price and Miss Jessie Price of Clinton; and two bro thers, Julius and Eddie Price of Clinton. Funeral services were held Sunday at Low Zion ABJE Church. Burial was in the church ce metery. * * * Mrs. Leaman MOUNTVILLE - Mrs. Eva Leaman, 90, died Saturday. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Watts and was a member of St. Mary AME Church of Cross Hill. She was a mem ber of Heroines of Jerricho and the Woman’s AidSodiety Lodge 39. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Eunice Watts of Charlotte, N.C. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Cross Hill. Burial was in the church cemetery. * * * L. B. Rhinehart NEWBERRY - Leroy B. Rhine hart, 64, of 1615 First St., died in Lexington Thursday. He was the father of Darrell Rhinehart of Clinton and a brother of Rev. Leland R. Rhinehart of Joanna. Other survivors include his wife, three other sons, six daugh ters, four other brothers, two sisters, 30 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were con ducted Saturday at Lewis Metho dist Church with burial in New berry Memorial Gardens. * + * Mrs- Hughes ENOREE - Mrs. Ola Mae Rhodes Hughes of Route 1, Enoree, died Tuesday. She was a sister of Mrs. J. T. Whitmore of Clinton. Other survivors include a daughter, four sons, three other sisters, three brothers and se ven grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Shoals Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. * * * Mrs. Bell Mrs. Bennie Jimson Bell of 108 Oak St., widow of L. W. Bell, died Sunday. A native of Laurens County, daughter of the late Jim and Julia Jimson, she was a member of Bethlehem Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Juanita Eva Brooks and Mrs. Marion Katherine Kelly of Washington, D. C.,andMrs. Vera Taylor, Miss Mary Bell and Miss Martha Bell of Clinton; two sons, George Young and John E. San ders of Washington, D. C.; and five grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Grove Baptist Church.
