Walton Beach, Fla., with his fiancee, MissPan- sie Carter of Columbia, and Barry Wayne Mauldin student at Clemson University spent Thanksgiving weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Maul din and sister Anita. Mr..and Mrs. Herman Nabors spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Norton and family in Gar- f den City, S. C. On their way back they visited with Mrs. Nabors brother Mr. and Mrs. Haynie Murdock and daughter, Stephanie in Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nabors had Thanksgiving supper with Donald Barnette and Mrs. Lu- venia Padgette inCharlotte.N. C. last Wednesday. Dr. Louis Stephens’ mother, Mrs. John R. Stephens from Can ton, N. C. is here with the family on Horseshoe Lane. Dr. Stephens’ brother, John, from Oxford, Ohio spent Sunday night with the Stephens. He came especially to return his daugh ter, Cathy, who is a freshman at PC. Col. and Mrs. Leo C. Mc Carthy are visiting her mother, Mrs. Walter Johnson. They have been stationed in Venezuela. Mrs. McCarthy will extend her visit through Christmas. Miss Sara Sadler from Wash ington, D. C. spent Thanksgiving with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Rufus Sadler. Her sister, Jinky, also came from Washington to be with the family. She attends Trinity College there. f Lt. Col. Frank C. Young Jr. and Mrs. Young, Frankie HI, and Jo Nell of Ft. Bragg, N. C. spent the Thanksgiving holidays with Mrs. Frank C. Young and family. Lt. Col. Young is pre sently stationed at Womack Army Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gray and daughter, Mary of Wtlliamston spent Thanksgiving with Mr. Gray’s sister, Mrs. W. D. Adair and Mr. Adair. John Addison, Mike Turner, Cally Gault and Charlie Cooper spent the weekend in Oconee County fishing for Rainbow trout. Mrs. J.B. Wilder joined Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Wilder of Mc Cormick and spent Thanksgiving in Florida with Mrs. J.R. Dillard and Mrs. J.B. Bazemore. Tommy Addison, student at Darlington School, Rome, Ga. spent the Thanksgiving holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Addison. C.; Mrs. Kent Krell and children, Katheryne, George and Ursula of Columbia; Mrs. George Krell of Chicago, 111. and Miss Barbara Eichel berger of Columbia. Rev. Eichelberger is pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville and Miss Barbara Eichelberger is a psychiatric so cial worker at the South Caro lina State Hospital. UDC Holds Memorial The Stephen D. Lee Chapter of the United Daughters of the Con federacy met at the home of Mrs. Ralph Copeland for the November meeting. The meeting opened with the Ritual and prayer was given by chaplain, Mrs. Frank Miller. After a short business meeting, Mrs. Hugh Bonds Workman pre sented a program on Armistice Day and the State of Georgia. A lovely memorial service was conducted for Mrs. Metta Lynch Stone, a beloved member who passed away during the year. Mrs. Miller read the 23rd palsm and a prayer was given by Mrs. W. C. Baldwin. Miss Claire Dun can sang “Beyond the Sunset.” The ceremony closed with the reading of “Crossing the Bar' by Tennyson. * * * Ladies Nicrht The Clinton Kiwanis Club La dies Night Party will be Dec. 5 from 7:30 to 12 p.m. at the Mary Musgrove Hotel Ballroom. Entertainment will be fur- nished by “Red" Ivester’s “Old Timers”. The specif ladies’ night pro gram will also feature country music by Clarence Brookshire and his band for dancing. Newcomers Make Plans The Clinton Newcomers Club held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Episci- pal Parish House. The club' sponsored a Sarah Coventry party at their meeting which was attended by members and their guests. Many beauti ful pieces of Jewelry were dis played by Mrs. Edna Ellison, the party hostess. Refreshments were served by Mrs. F. V. Smith Jr., the Nov ember hostess, after which fol lowed a business meeting. The members voted not to hold a December meeting due to the holiday season. Plans were made for a decorat ing party to be held on Satur day, Dec. 13 at Cottage 26-A at Whitten Village. Each mem ber was asked to contribute Christmas ornaments which will be used to decorate the recrea tion room of the cottage for the holidays. Miss Betty Jones Bride-elect Honored On Saturday, Nov. 29, Miss Betty Jones was honored with a luncheon atOrangeburg. The hos tesses were Miss Celia Jones, Mrs. Van Jones and Mrs. Ronald Matthews. The living room of the home was decorated with a lovely ar rangement of white roses. Trim-Nasties Classes Start Trim-nasties classes for la dies will get under way Monday, Dec. 8, at the Jud Gymnasium on the Presbyterian College Campus. Two classes are being offered each Monday and Thurs day of each week and will con tinue throughout the winter sea son. Mrs. John J. Bingham will conduct the classes again this year and has an outstanding pro gram lined up to help condition the body. Classes will be held each Mon day at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and each Thursday at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Classes will last for an hour. All ladies who wish to join the class are asked to come by the YMCA office and register for the course. A small fee of $3 for YMCA members and $6 for non-members will be charged to help defray the expense of the course. An appetizer of pur cheese straws was served j living room.
