Mills To « Observe Holiday In observance of Thanksgiving Day, all Clinton Mills plants will close at midnight, Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the end of the re gular second shift and will re sume operations at 12 midmight Thursday, November 27, with the regular third shift. Mrs. Anette Nimmons, agent for Tupperware will demonstrate Tupperware and members will arrange boxes of fruits to be sent to shut-ins in Shady Grove Community. Kiwcmis Plans Thanksgiving Breakfast The Clinton Kiwanis Club will have a Thanksgiving breakfast at the Mary Musgrove Hotel Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27. Rev. Peter Ouzts, pastor of the Clinton Episcopal Church, will be guest speaker. The program will begin at 8 a.m., according to Joel Cox, chairman of the Kiwanis Club’s committee supporting churches and their spiritual aims. •Hue and Cry” The phrase “hue and cry’’ originated in early English common law with the prac tice of pursuing a criminal with horn and voice. BIRTHDAY PARTY On Saturday afternoon, Nov. 22, at one o’clock, Annette Bellue was given a party in honor of her 11th birthday by her mother, Mrs. Vera Bellue at their home on North Broad Street. About 12 boys and girls enjoyed party games and refreshments. Annette received many nice gifts. PINK AND BLUE SHOWER On Friday night, Nov. 21, at 7 o’clock Mrs. Shirley Pearson of Columbia was honored with a pink and blue shower at the home of Mrs. Opal McAlister, 101 Milling Street. About 25 ladies were pre sent for the occasion and enjoy ed games.
