Becky Sanders left Thursday to begin classes at the Medical School of Georgia, Augusta. She is the daughter of Mr.-and Mrs. Bobby Sanders. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Dow have returned home after a weeks visit in Pinehurst and Raleigh, N. C. Those attending a luncheon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Au brey DePortes, 1227 Deer- wood Dr., Columbia on Sept. 27, were Mrs. J. E. Martin, Mrs. George Corley, Mrs. Leroy San ders and Mrs. M. T. Poole of Clinton and Mrs. Bill Power of Laurens, Mrs. Earle Black and Mrs. H. W. DesPortes of Col umbia. Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Ford have returned to their home on Avon Park, Fla., after visiting Mrs. Ford’s mother, Mrs. Eugene Hitt on Sunday. Mrs. Hitt and the Fords visited Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hitt in Anderson. Mrs. Nelle Bowman, daughter Karen, and son Kenneth, of War ner Robins, Ga., were visitors to the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Loftis over the week end. Mrs. Georgia Ross, of Trave lers Rest, was a Sunday visitor of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Loftis. Mrs. Vance Cress, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Craig and twin sons, Ronald and Donald of Hickory, N.C. were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Murphy. They at tended the PC-Lenoir Rhyne game on Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Craig are graduates of Le- noir-Rhyne. Miss Cynthia Cooper has re turned to Belhaven College, Jack- son, Miss., where she is a sopho more. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Howard Watkins Jr., spent the weekend in Bel mont, N. C. with Mr. and Mrs. William T. Dixon. Mrs. N. W. McDaniel is visit ing her daughter, Mrs. W. G. Coker and Mr. Coker in Canton, N.C. Paul Muller is a patient at Providence Hospital in Colum bia where he underwent surgery on Tuesday. Rev. and Mrs. W. Q. Griff of Charlotte, N. C., Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stone of North Charleston, Mrs. C. J. Bouknight and Amelia Bouknight visited Miss Sara Stone and other relatives recently. Misses Helen and Julia Porter who have been spending the past several months at their home in Montreat, N. C., have returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Goyne L. Simp son will sail from Charleston, on Oct 5 on a cruise to Bermu da. They will be accompanied by Mrs. Simpson’s sister and bro ther-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George D. Hesse of Charleston. They expect to return on Oct 11. Mrs. Hattie Tucker, mother of Charles Waldron, moved to Clin ton from St. Petersburg, Fla. She lives at 106 E. Centennial St Mr. and Mrs. Jim Shakespeare went to Miami last weekend to take part in the Tennis Inter- sectional Team matches. Mr. Shakespeare played on the soutl team. ZUCCHINI WITH CHEESE SAUCE 4 medium zucchini Vz cup milk Vi cup real mayonnaise % cup finely shredded Cheddar cheese Vi teaspoon salt Dash pepper Cut zucchini lengthwise into V4-inch slices or cross wise. Cook in boiling salted water just until tender. Drain, if necessary. Pre pare sauce by blending milk into mayonnaise in saucepan. Add cheese, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted and sauce is thickened and smooth. Pour over zucchini. Serve hot.
