They reported Aug. 23 with a party at her home perfect weather the whole week, on South Woodrow Street. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Duncan of Athens, Ala., were recent guests of his sister, Mrs. Nene D. Work man. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Davis Workman. Miss Betty Baldwin of Raleigh, N. C., spent the weekend with her aunt, Mrs. S. C. Dunlap. Miss Baldwin is a student at N. C. State working on her Master’s degree. Mrs. lone Wallace has returned home from Self Memorial Hos pital, Greenwood, where she has been a patient for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Pitts and daughter, Margaret, of Bethune spent the weekend here with re latives, coming especially for the Milam-Cowan wedding in Green wood Saturday. Misses Brenda Baldwin, Gale Smith and Charlene Young left Monday for Gaffney where t^- enrolled as members of .ue freshman class at Limestone College. Mrs. Edward A. Alwine and daughter, Carol, of Landover Hills, Md. were weekend guests of her sister, Mrs. J. B. Arnold and family, and family. Mrs. Irene Pitts has returned from Augusta, Ga., where she has been visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Col. and Mrs. Ralph Holcombe. Col. Holcombe is con valescing at home following an illness and hospital stay. Mrs. H. K. Neely ofColumbus, Ga., was a recent guest of her sis ter, Mrs. Furman Thomason and Mr. Thomason. Miss Rebecca Speake and her sister, Mrs. Fuller Motes, of Mountville were recent vaca tioners at Lake Junaluska, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mize and son, Lindsay, of Sarasota, Fla., will arrive tomorrow for a few days visit with her sister, Mrs. J. B. Arnold and Mr. Arnold. Among the freshman students entering Clemson University this fall were Lee Benjamin, Len Ledford, and Ronnie Roth. Rev. and Mrs. Zeb Williams and children have returned from a vacation stay in Hendersonville, N. C. and points of interest in Tennessee and Virginia along the Blue Ridge Parkway. While in Hendersonville Mrs. Williams attended the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Women’s Conferences at Bon darken,and Rev. Williams attended the Min isters’ Workshop and Laymen’s Conferences. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Reddick of Fredericksburg, Va., spent the weekend here with their parents, Mrs. L. S. Reddick and Mr. and Mrs. Bruiison Asbill. They came especially for the wedding of Wil liam C. Milam, Jr., and Miss Catherine Cowan which was held in Greenwood Saturday evening. The Zeb Williams family took a day off recently to go to “Six Flags." Tommy Addison spent about 10 days with his sister and brother- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Heckard in Highland Falls, N. Y. Tommy will leave for Rome, Ga., soon where he will be in the ninth grade at Darlington School. Miss Lee Davis, Dr. and Mrs. Henry Bayon and Lucile Bayon have just returned from a month vacation in Europe. They visited England, France, Italy and Ger many. Miss “Sister” Blalock is home after a six weeks tour of Europe. Mr. -md Mrs. Miles Powell oid daughters Gina and Melissa ^■ent a week in Danville, Va., visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Farley. Mr. and Mrs. George Cornel- son and four children are home after spending most of the sum mer at the cottage on Lake Sum- mitt. Dr. and Mrs. Alan G. Cook of Clinton were among the delegates who attended a long-range plan ning meeting of the South Carolina Arts Commission in Columbia Aug. 21-22. Dr. Cook is a member of the Presbyterian College music faculty. Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Wilson and daughter, Pam of Charlotte, N. C. and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Wilson of Matthew, N. C. visit ed Mr. and Mrs. WoodrowWil- son. Eleven friends were there to help Beth celebrate. Refreshments of ice cream, candy, and birthday cake were served. Beth received many nice gifts. Mrs. B. F. Wingard and Mrs. David George of Laurens attended the graduation exercises at Pal metto Military Academy, at Camp Blanding, Starke, Fla., last week end. Mrs. Wingard’s son, Binki, was a member of the graduating class. Mr. and Mrs. James Monroe of Latta and Mrs. Harris K. Cov ington or Richmond, Va., spent last weekend with their brother, Aldine Blakely. Miss Jeannie Nabors, is a pa tient at Self Memorial Hospital, Greenwood, where she underwent surgery on Tuesday. She is the daughter of Mrs. Marion Nabors and the late Mr. Nabors. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Blakely and children, Allison, Susan and Ben left this week for Atlanta, Ga., where they will make their home. Mrs. Blakely and child ren spent last week with Mr. Blakely’s mother, Mrs. J. B. Speake and Mr. Blakely joined them for the weekend. Mrs. Evans Simmons of Cuth- bert, Ga., was the guest last week of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Robert son. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Dow have returned from a ten day trip to points in Texas. S. degree in elementary education. She taught at Pleasant View School at Gray Court. She is a memlier of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. The grooom is employed by Allen Wood Steel in Conshohock- en, Pa., having earned the B. S. degree in biology from Morris College. His parents live in Gray Court. Miss Kathryn Arnold arrived home Tuesday from Minneapolis, Minn, where she spent the sum mer with her sister, Miss Mar jorie Arnold. She will be home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Arnold for about 10 days before returning to the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., to resume her studies. Miss Sally Milam, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dillard Milam left Monday for Charlotte, N. C., where she will enter Queens Col lege as a freshman. Lt. Col. Frank C. Young Jr. MD and family, Mrs. Joann Addy Young, Frankie III and Jonelle of Frankfurt, Germany left La Harve, France on August 21 for New York after being stationed at the 97th. General Hospital for the past three years. They will be stationed at Ft. Bragg, N. C. and are expected to arrive for a visit with his mother, Mrs. Frank Young, Sr. around Sept. 1. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Myers, organist, and Miss Vera Sligh, soloist. The bride chose a full-length gown of silk bombazine with bo dice and sleeves of chantilly lace. Lace motifs embroidered with seed pearls and crystals were appliqued on the skirt and de tachable train.
