Mrs. Meeks is one of the kindergarten teachers at the Lydia Presbyterian Church. Miss Feroline Seay spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Royce Smith and Mr. Smith, near Laurens. Mr. and Mrs. Mart Satterfield visited their daughter and son- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond McKittrick in Suffolk, Va., the week of the fourth. The McKit trick family returned home with them for a visit. Misses Lizanne Wright and Mia and CookieJnhns°n left Mon day for a 10 day visit with Mr. and Mrs. David E. Roberts in Fairhope, Ala. Miss Wright and Miss Martha Furr spent the weekend in Co lumbia with Miss Wright's mo ther, Mrs. Thomas Ancrum and Mr. Ancrum. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton White were weekend guests of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lamar McCarroll in Talla hassee, Fla. Rev. and Mrs. Fred E. Cason Sr. and family attended the an nual Church of God Camp Meet ing in Mauldin the week of the July fourth holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Cason Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Cason of Cleveland, Ohio spent that weekend with the Casons Sr. and attended the camp meeting with them. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McLendon were recent guests of his sister, Mrs. Mary Northcutt in Colum bia. Mr. and Mrs. James Seay of Greenville visited Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell on Saturday. Fin Sunday Mr. and Mrs. William Stone and family of Anderson were supper guests of her parents, the Trammells. Mr. and Mrs. Luke Fuller of Greenwood and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fuller and son of Joanna visited the former's mother, Mrs. J. W, Fuller and sister, Mrs. Lois Pos on Sunday. They are Mr. Joe Fuller’s grand mother and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Parrish and Tami spent the week of the fourth at Myrtle Beach. On Sun day Mr. and Mrs. Parrish and Tami, Mr. and Mrs. Major Craw ford, Mike and Missie, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Crawford and family, Ronnie Cheek and Debbie Ben nett and Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Crawford spent the day with their sister and daughter, Mrs. J. L. Mcllaffey and Mr. Mcllaffey in W oodruff. Miss Bennett of Wash ington, N. C. is spending the sum mer with her grandparents, the A. T. Crawfords and Mrs.Elmer Bennett in Joanna. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kuy kendall of Columbia spent the Fourth weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Kuykendall. They all enjoyed a trip to Mag gie Valley, N. C. and Ghost Town during the weekend. Mrs. Nathan Wyatt and Mrs. Paul Patterson with Miss Brenda Cochran of Atlanta, Ga., who with tier parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Cochran were visiting Mr. and Mrs. Rabun Wyatt, spent July 4 at Myrtle Beach with Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Sanders and family and Miss Judy Patterson who were vacationing there. Mrs. E. C. Taylor Jr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell were in Columbia on Saturday evening for the O.E.S. Area 4 School. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Trammell and Mr. and Mrs. Posey Taylor attended the funeral ofMrs.J.W. Patterson at Fort Mill. She was the mother of Brevard (Pat) Pat terson of Clinton. Pfc. Ronnie Abercrombie with two of his base buddies from Ft. Gordon, Ga., spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Abercrombie. Shu mate and Grady enlisted in the Marines together Dec. 29. 1968 and have been stationed together since their enlistment. Harvey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Shumate of 125 Pine St. and Butch is the son of Mr and Mrs. Claude Grady of Cypress St. Both an' graduates of Clinton High School. Harvey also attended Gardner-Webb College. County Water Bill Introduced COLUMBIA-A new water dis trict in Laurens County would have authority to issue bonds un der legislation sponsored by the Laurens County Legislative Delegation. An act creating the Upper Lau rens County Water District, passed earlier this year, is being amended to give the district au thority to issue general obligation bonds, subject to favorable vote in a referendum within the dis trict. The district is also being loaned $500 in county funds to lie repaid over a five-year period at five per cent interest. The money is designated for organi zational expenses. District boundaries are also being slightly modified to make detailed changes and to provide for the district to begin at a point 300 feet southeast of the Fountain Inn city limits instead of a mile southeast of the city limits.
