CLIFTON HEATON Mrs. Mary Martin and Joyce Ott spent the weekend in Columbia with Mrs. Martin’s daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs.C.A. Pear son. Mr. and Mrs. Randy Campbell spent the 4th of July week in Mississippi with Randy’s rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. J. J. McGinnis and Lucky and Mrs. Roberta Merideth and children spent a few days during the holiday at Day tona Beach, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Woodward and children spent a few days last week at the lake and also the mountains. On a recent Saturday Iris Hughes and Carol Smith accom panied a group of young people from Beaverdam Church to Six Flags Over Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Fern Hardman and grandchildren, Robin andSu- sie, spent the 4th of July holidays with their son and his family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hardman and children in Muckogee, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Laney vacationed at Bryson City, North Carolina last week. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Whitsel were Mrs. Lessio Carr and children and Frances Busby of Aiken. Sgt. and Mrs. Mike Sanders of Fort Sewart, Tenn. returned home on Sunday after spending a nine-day leave with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Author Sanders and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bragg. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ray Hea ton and son, Marty Ray, visited Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Robert son in Greenville Saturday after noon. On Monday Mr. and Mrs. Bar- dy Cannon and children of Green ville visited Mr. and Mrs. Au thor Sanders. Recent v sitorsofMr. and Mrs. J. J. McGinnis and family were Mr. and Mrs. Billy Wayne Wal lin and children of Ringo, Ga. Mrs. Ada Center, Mrs. Vesta Mae Eubanks, Miss Bessie Holtz- claw of this city and Mrs. Luke Fuller of Greenwood spent sev eral diys in Greer with their daughter and son, brother and sister, aunt and uncle, Mrs. Es sie Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Lee J. Holtzclaw, Sr. They accom panied Mrs. Fuller home for a few days in Greenwood. On Sunday, June 29 Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Brewer and daughter, Sherry, visited Six Flags over Georgia. Terri Hughes of Hickory Tavern was an overnight guest of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hughes and Iris. The Rev. J. Furman Entre- kin and family spent their vaca tion camping on Lake Hartwell. Mrs. Walter McAlister and grandson, Ricky Frady, and Mr. and Mrs. William Butler and son, Billy, visited Gold City in North Carolina, Thursday. Miss Tona Rae White of An derson is spending this week with Rev. J. Furman Entrekin’s fami ly. Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge San ders and children spent several days at Jekell Island, Ga. Staff Sgt. Joe Adams of Mont ana is spending a leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Adams. Mrs. Allard Parker has re turned home after spending sev eral days last week with her grandmother, Mrs. E. L. Kirby in Lake City, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Heaton and children, Mrs. L. C. Heaton, and Miss Sara Nell Heaton en joyed a trip to Chattanooga, Tenn. and parts of Kentucky during 4th of July holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Farmer and grandsons, Tony and Ricky, spent the July 4th holidays in Spring Lake in North Carolina with their daughter and son-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter 01- brish. Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Stroud of this city and Howard Stroud and daughter, Pam, of Columbia en joyed a trip to Ghost Town and also seen “Unto These Hills’’ in Cherokee, N.C. last week. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Brewer and daughter, Sherry, and Mrs. Dianne Reynolds and children and Mrs. Otis Poison motored to the mountains and Gatlinburg, Tenn., on Sunday. They also spent some time at Lake Greenwood last week. Wednesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Leopard near Sa luda were Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Leopard, Mrs. Ray Cauble spent last week in Whitmire with Mrs. Inez Hendrix. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Sam Owens of Spartanburg visited their sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Simmons and sons, Mrs. Sara Shelton and Emily spent several days during the holidays at Daytona Beach and Silver Springs, Fla. During the holidays Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Stroud and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stroud and sons 'isited Gold City in North Caro lina, Granite Park Zoo in At lanta, Ga. and also Stone Moun tain, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Campbell, Joe Adams and Sylvia Estes spent a few days last week at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Clara Humphries and Phoebe, and Debbie Johnson visited Mrs. Humphries sister, Mrs. Grady Ford Greenwood Lake several days last week. Guests of Rev. and Mrs. Al lard Parker several days last week were her father, Delous Jordan and a friend Ethel Rye, of Jacksonville, Fa. Mrs. Faye Garner of Green wood visited Mr. and Mrs. Claude Farmer, Saturday afternoon. On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Heaton and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Heaton and Cheryl, and Clara Foster and Diane, and Mike League visited Frontier Land in Cherokee, N.C. and also Gatlinburg, Tenn. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy lusti spent a few days at Myrtle Beach. FAMILY GET TOGETHER Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Windsor, Mrs. Harry Foster and Treasa, and Mrs. Ruth Windsor and Tony, all of this city; and Miss Ellen Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Hill of Laurens, along with rela tives from different places en joyed a family get L>gether at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Addison at Lake Murray. Miss Gwen Holtzclaw was call ed to Greenwood last Tuesday due to the death of her father, John Alvin Holtzclaw. Mrs. Frances Holtzclaw of Greenwood spent a few days last week with Mrs. Evelyn Holtzclaw and daughter, Gwen. BIRTHDAY PARTY On Saturday, July 5, Debbie Turner observed her third birth day with a party at her home in Kinards. The guests enjoyed the games and refreshments. Debbie received many nice gifts. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Turner of Kinards. BIRTHDAY DINNER On Sunday Brad Pearson of Co lumbia was given a birthday din ner at the home of his grand mother, Mary Martin.
