Mr. and Mrs. Scott Dawkins and isblis were guests of friends in Jacksonville, N.C. the past week. CW2 and Mrs. Tracy Dees and family are visiting his mother, Mrs. Verner Dees after return- hig from Germany. Mr. Dees will be going to V ietnam for a tour of duty. Mrs. Dees and children will make their home in Clinton while he is away. George and Russell James spent a few days at Myrtle Beach 'last week. ; Rev. and Mrs. Micky Thomas and daughter of Denmark have been here for a visit with his mother, Mrs. Emmie Thomas and -other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Mason Coleman and family and Johnnie Miller visited the Coleman’s son, Walter Coleman Sr., U.S. Navy in Great Lakes, 111., during vacation week. ACCEPTS LAB POSITION Miss Gloria Jackson has ac cepted a position as Lab Tech nician at Self Memorial Hospi tal in Greenwood. She began her position Monday after spending three weeks with her mother, Mrs. Ezzie Miller and Mr. Mill er. Miss Jackson received her studies at Grady Memorial Hos pital in Atlanta, Ga. Mr. andMrs. HomerSharpe Jr. and children of Charleston were overnight guests of his grand mother, Mrs. Mack Harris on Friday a week ago. Then on Saturday they all went to Lake City, Tenn., for a weeks visit with Mr. and Mrs. Sharpe Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Patterson, Misses Cally Patterson, Dianne Moore, Sheila Vanderford and Michelle Malpass visited the for mers son, Jimmy Patterson at Parris Island Sunday. Marine Patterson is taking his basic training at Parris Island. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Mitchell spent the past week with her mo ther, Mrs. H. S. Watson and his brother, W. S. Mitchell and Mrs. Mitchell and other relatives in Columbus, Miss. They also visit ed relatives in Fayette, Ala., while away. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballard and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. O'Shileds attended the funeral of J. T. Crowe in Gray Court of last Thursday. Mrs. James Childress and Mrs. Wilma Bryant were in Greenville Saturday evening and attended the Shin-Dig at Memor ial Auditorium. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Hill and children of Calhoun Falls were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie James on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Harvey and Dianne vacationed at Myrtle Beach last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. O’ Shields and grandson, Barry Hairston were guests of the for mers brother, Sgt. Coy O’Shields and family in Manasses, Va., last week. They also visited in Wash ington, D. C. They enjoyed a tour of Smithsonian Institute, Arlmton Cemetery and other points of in terest. Mitch O’Shields accom panied his uncle and aunt home and will be with his grandmo ther, Mrs. Stella McLendon for two weeks. The O’Shields with Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Hairston and fami ly enjoyed one day of their va cation at Six Flags Over Geor gia. Mike Campbell, Lamar Shock- ley, Joe Hairston and Ken Moore spent the past week vacationing at Myrtle Beach. Coming from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. David Satterfield of Dalton, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Coates and fami ly of Mauldin and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gambrell and son of Lau rens. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Sat terfield furnished the fish and acts as hosts. The other fami lies brought the side dishes. Mr. and Mrs. Gaskins spent the week end in Tryon, N.C. Mrs. W. L. Motte with her sis ter, Mrs. Alvin Roberts of Foun tain Inn visited their sister-in- law, Mrs. Eva Attaway of Salu da, in Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood recently. Mrs. Motte with her daughter, Mrs. Janet Reeder and children of Joanna visited Mr. and Mrs. Roberts in Fountain Inn on Wednesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wages of Chester and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Domila and children of Mecer, Penn, were recent guests of Mrs. Wade Pennington and Mr. and Mrs. Joe. Templeton. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Revis have returned home after a vacation in Colorado Springs, Colorado with her son, Robert S. Petty, Mrs. Petty and sons. They also enjoyed many interesting sights enroute there and back. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Campbell spent the past week at their cabin on Lake Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jackson and children of Clemson visited with their parents, Mrs. Ezzie Miller and Mr. Miller and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Cunningham dur ing the past week. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams were his sister, Mrs. Lucille Moore with her son Sam and Mrs. Moore and child ren of Union, his niece, Mrs. Wilburn Hensley, Mr. Hensley and family of Spartanburg, his son, Edward and Mrs. Williams and Miss Angela Williams of Newberry and Charles Williams of Lydia. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gaffney spent last week in Shreveport, La., with their son, Capt. Charles Gaffney, Mrs. Gaffney and daugh ter. Capt. Gaffney is at Barks dale AFB. They also visited in Dallas, Tex. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell attended the Fairview Harness Racing on July 4 and also visited Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Trammell and Mr. and Mrs. WiUiam Stone in Anderson. Andrea Stone re turned home with her grand parents for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Arnold and Buddy spent a few days in Char leston the past week. Taylor, son of Mrs. Mary A. Taylor of Rt. 2, Clinton, is serving with the First Ma rine Division in Vietnam. The mission of the First Ma rine Division is to find the e- nemy forces and destry their ca pabilities to exist in the Sou thern I Corps area. MRS. YOUNG Mrs. Young Joins County Library Staff Mrs. Georgia Y. Young of 105 East Calhoun Street, Clinton, has joined the Laurens County Li brary Staff, according to Mrs. Phil D. Huff, Librarian. Mrs. Young will have complete charge of the Children’s and Young People’s Library in Clin ton and will also assist with the extension work of the County Li brary. Mrs. Young, a 1963 gra duate of Erskine College, is a former teacher and will be a val uable addition to the library staff.
