Young, Presi dent of American Legion Post 56 Auxiliary, Mrs. Frank Mil ler, local chairman of Girl Sta ters and Mrs. Phil Rogers at tended a tea in the Governor’s mansion on June 5 given for mem bers ol Palmetto Girl Staters. Local representatives attending were Susie Jacobs, Almeda Ro gers and Kathy Lynch. Mr. and Mrs. Gaston Wilder of McCormick spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. J. B. Wilder. George Reid is a patient at Charlotte Memorial Hospital, Charlotte, N.C., where he under went surgery this week. Mrs. E. F. Culbreath of Char lotte, N.C., is spending the sum mer with her mother, Mrs. O. I. Sheely. Mr. and Mrs. WarrenO. White, Mrs. Marion W. Gray and daugh ters, Paula and Nancy of Virgin ia Beach, Va., Mr. and Mrs. James R. White and daughters, Marilyn and Janie of Greensboro, N.C., spent the weekend with their mother, Mrs. O. B. White, coming especially for the Simpson-White wedding Saturday in Iva. Other guests ofMrs. White included Mr. and Mrs. Richard B. Corley and Miss Lorainne White of Co lumbia. William J. Henry continues ill at Bailey Memorial Hospital where he has been a patient the past several weeks. Mrs. John W. Finney, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Finney, Jr., and Miss Mary Moore Wed In Mountville Rites son, Warren, spent the week end in Dillon with Mrs. Bill Mur chison, going especially for the rehearsal and wedding of their niece and cousin. Miss Kitty Mur chison to Clyde Eugene Crocker of Enoree which took place Sat urday evening. On Sunday they visited Mr. and Mrs. Mac Finney in Marion. Mr. and Mrs. Posey W. Cope land spent Sunday in Sumter with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Copeland, Jr. They were accompanied home by their granddaughter, Jennifer E- laine Copeland for a visit. LL and Mrs. ThomasW. Cope land have arrived in Germany where he is assigned to the U.S. Third Armored Division sta tioned near Frankfurt. Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Holland had as guests on Sunday, their daughter, Mrs. James T. Smith and sons, Ronnie and Mike of Co lumbia, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Sprouse and sons, Gary and Mi chael of GreenviUe, Mrs. Tom Flow and granddaughter of Jo anna, who had been visiting for several days were also guests that day. Dr. and Mrs. D. 0. Rhame joined Dr. and Mrs. Donald Rhame in Atlanta last week and then flew to Montigo Bay, Jamaica for the week. Miss Mary Louise Moore was married to Mr. Randall Steven Lanford at 7:30 atthe Beaverdam Baptist Church on May 30. A re ception was held in the church so cial hall. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Moore of Mountville. She is a graduate of Clinton High School and at tended Anderson Junior College. She is currently a junior at Lan der College. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Lanford of Clinton. He is a grad uate of Clinton High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He is presently on leave before attending the NCO Academy at Fort Penning, Ga. Rev Edward Hayes officiated at the wedding. The organist was Miss Curran League of Green ville. Rev. W. W. Willingham of Cross Hill was the soloist. The matron of honor was Mrs. Stanley Moore, sister-in-law of the bride. The maid of honor was Miss Elizabeth Woods of Gray Court, cousin of the bride. The bridal attendants were MissSan- dra Huatt of Pickens, former college roommate of the bride, Miss Sandra Lanford and Miss Denise Lanford of Clinton, both sisters of the bride. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Randolph Moore. Ricky Tingle, cousin of the bride, was the ringbearer, and Amy Tingle was the flower girl. The groom’s father, Mr. Harry Lanford was best man. Ushers were Stanley Moore of Mount ville, brother of the bride, Steve Moore of Columbia, Charles Campbell and Randy Campbell of Clinton. The bride wore a gown of can dlelight peau de soie with an em pire waist trimmed in scalloped lace and seed pearls. The gown was of full length and had a de tachable train. The veil was of fingertip length, and the bride carried candle roses on a white Bible. The bridal attend.ints wore gowns of lace over yellow satin with an empire waist with full length A-line skirts. They car ried yellow daisy nosegays with green streamers. The flower girl wore a dress of white organdy trimmed in lace. Futhey and family of Woodward, Pa. * * * VACATIONING TEENS Jimmy Walker, 15 year old son of Dr. and Mrs. James Walker, is working on Mr. and Mrs. Judson Mayfield’s farm this summer in Cairo, Ga. The May- fields are parents of Mrs. Robert Taylor of Clinton. * * + Susan Fuller is a camper at the Summit Camp at Cedar Moun tain, N.C. Scott Shook is also camping at the Summits. Dick McSween and Claude Crocker are spending this week at the Dick Campbell Basketball School at the Citadel. * * * Representing Troop 11 at Boy Scout Camp last week were the following boys: Derick Wessinger, Erskine Jacks, Jimmy Audia, LynDailey, Vernon Edwards, Glen Hanson, Peter Undari, George Dailey, Dean Harris, Norman Dixon, Da vid Rogers, Jimmy Creighton, George Cornelson, Hiram Lee, Thomas Dailey, Kenneth Carter, and Micheal Mills. Whitfield in Clinton. Miss Kristi King, whose wed ding to Mr. Fred Larry Seward of Laurens is planned for June 28 was honored with a kitchen shower last Wednesday after noon, by Mrs. Marvin Gault and Ginger at their home.
