Mrs. Wayne Strange was the bride's only attendant She wore a dress of rose taffeta with a matching head piece and carried a bouquet of snapdragons. . Given in marraige by her fa ther, the bride wore a gown of white satin with lace trim. Her Shoulder length veil was attach ed to a crown of seeded pearls. She carried a white Bible topped with an orchid. Gary Vincent was his brother's best man. Mrs. Vincent is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Penland of Laurens. She attended Laurens High School and is employed at C. W. Anderson Hosiery Co. in Clinton. Mr. Vincent, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ned 0. Vincet Sr., of Clinton, attended Clinton High School and is employed by the Winn-Dixie Co. in Clinton. A reception followed in the church social hall, given by the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Penland. Ceremony Held Using the B&PW emblem cere mony, Mrs. Henry Craig present ed the program Tuesday evening. May 13, at the club meeting. This is the golden anniversary for the National BAPW. A replica of a winged victory, a ship model depicting the theme and lighted candles were dra matically used for emphasis. Taking part as Narrator, Torch, Wand, Scroll, Ship and Nike were : Mrs. Len H. Ledford, Mrs. W. J. Crews, Mrs. Grace Connor, Mrs. Perry Moore and Mrs. M. C. PtJole. Mrs. Alexander Sprunt of Charleston and Naples, Florida was a guest Dinner was served buffet style. Groomsmen were William E. Young and Samuel J. Wilson, both of Clinton, uncles of the bride. A reception was held in the so cial hall of the church immediate ly following the ceremony. During the evening the couple left for a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Smith attended Clin ton High School. Mr. Smith grad uated from Clinton High School and attended Clemson University. He left Tuesday, May 20, for Or lando, Fla., where he will be in Naval Basic Training for nine weeks. While he is away, Mrs. Smith will make her home with her parents. IRIS GARDEN The Iris Garden Club will meet May 28 at 3:30 at the home of Mrs. Lewis Simpson, 111N. Jones Street. Members are asked to bring flower arrangements al ready made. •.v.y.; Clinton Club Wins Awards On the national level, the Clin ton Business and Professional Women’s Club won a criteria a- ward for the years work and was given two second and one third place in newspaper publicity from the State B&PW. Headed by the President, Mrs. M. C. Poole, Miss June Adair, Mrs. W. W. Harris and Mrs. W. J. Crews of Clinton attend ed the State Business and Pro fessional Women's Convention which was held in Clemson May 16-18. The Anderson Club was host. Miss Osta Underwood, second vice-president of the National B&PW and attorney and insurance executive ofNashville.Tenn., ad dressed the group on Saturday evening. Miss Underwood had formerly lived in Columbia, and expressed great pleasure on re turning to South Carolina for a visit Miss Underwood mentioned the great progress made by business women in the golden anniversary span (1919-1969) which the Nation al Club in celebrating this July in St Louis. Mrs. W. W. Harris was named state chairman of National Foun dation Development during the convention. Miss Windsor Marries Miss Dayna Ruth Windsor and Mr. Ronnie Carroll Hill were united in marriage on May 11 at 5 p.m. The Rev. J. Thomas Mill er officiated at Bailey Memorial Methodist Church. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ruth Windsor and the late Carl S. Windsor, of Clinton. She is a graduate of Clinton High School and been employed by the Anderson Hosiery Company. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Hill. He is a graduate of Gray Court-Owings High School and is employed by the Torrington Bearing Plant of Clinton. After the ceremony a recep tion was given at the home of the bride’s mother on Sunset Blvd. The newlyweds are presently making their home with the bride’s mother. Miss Lana Ruth Graham and Mr. Homer Michael Jones were married Sunday afternoon, May 18 at four-thirty o’clock in the First Wesleyan Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willaim Otis Graham Sr., of Whitmire and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Rector Jones of Clinton. Rev. Earl L. Alexander, with Rev. Marvin Quarrells assist ing, performed the ceremony. A traditional nuptial setting was created with a large arrange ment of sharta daisies, gaya daisies, and white snapdragons. Palms and white candelabras were used to enhance the set ting. The family pews were re served with satin bows. Wedding music was provided by Professor Leonard Brank, or ganist and Miss Marcia Ham- brick, soloist. Miss Hambrick sang “The Prayer of Saint Francis" and “O Lord Most Holy” before the cere- mon and “The Wedding Prayer’ as the couple knelt. The bridegroom’s father served his son as best man. Ushers were Mike Mahaffey, Fountain; William Otis Graham, Jr. of Columbia, brother of the bride; Stanley Murrell of Green ville; Irby Holland, Eddie Cle- land, Troy Bentley and Alvin Donnan Jr. all of Clinton. Bible bearer was Master Ro ger Worley and the flower girl was Miss Teresa Teseniar, both of Whitmire. Maids of honor were Miss Sherie Teseniar of Whitmire and Miss Donna Schilling of Honea Path, former roommate of the bride. Matron of honor was Mrs. Vernon Scott Bridesmaid were Miss Prudy Shade of Belton, Miss Sandra Stribling of Fountain Inn, Miss Betty Jones of Clinton, sister of the bridegroom; Miss Joyce Alexander of Clemson and Miss Lois Cargle of Columbia. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Darlene Windham of Atlanta and Miss E- laine Jones of Clinton, sister of the bridegroom. The bridal attendants were i- dentically attired in floor length gowns of maize crepe with Venice lace accenting the empire waist line. The design featured short sleeves and an A-line skirt with wide watteau back panels that formed a brush train. They also wore wrist length yellow gloves and carried long-stemmed yellow roses. The honor attendants, which also served at the reception were Mrs. Randy Crowder of Mount- ville, Miss Lynn Gregory, Miss Svisan Lake, Miss Jane Young, Miss Mary Frances Abrams, Miss Floree Taylor and Miss Ann King, all of Whitmire. The lovely bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of silk candelmist organza with a scal loped neckline and short scal loped sleeves. Chantilly lace em broidered In pearls, formed the empire bodice and a deep scal loped border of lace accented the skirt and chapel length train. Her tiered veil of silk illusion was caught to a headpiece of roses and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses with an orchid in the center. The bride’s mother wore a street-length dress of yellow crepe with a lace coat accented at the neckline and cuffs with yellow crepe. Her accessories were tinted to match and she wore a white orchid. About People You Know The bridegroom’s mother was attired in a street-length dress of turquoise silk shangtungwitha matching lace coat. Her acces sories were tinted to match her dress and she wore an orchid. Mr. Jones, a 1968 graduate of North Greenville Junior College, is a business major and ris ing senior at Presbyterian Col lege. The bride attended Pres byterian before taking employ ment at Anderson Hosiery Co. The couple will live on East Carolina Avenue in Clinton. * * * RECEPTION After the ceremony the bride’s parents entertained with a recep tion at Park Street Cafeteria. Later in the evening the couple left for a wedding trip to Miami Beach, Fla. For traveling the bride chose a navy blue dress and matching jacket. She wore red, white and blue and matching hat and a white orchid lifted from her bouquet. Recent Bride Entertained Miss Lana Graham recent bride of Homer Michael Jones was given a bridal shower at the Presbyterian College by her former roommate of the bride, Donna Shilling, Miss Sandra Stribling and Miss Prudy Shade. She received many beautiful gifts. There were 26 guests present. On April 11, a miscellaneous shower was given at the Com munity House for the bride by Miss Sherie Teseniar, Ann King, Florie Taylor and Linda Graham. On April 28, Miss Graham was given a household shower by the matron of honor, Mrs. Vernon Scott, Mrs. Brenda Worley and Mrs. Ralph Windham. On April 30, a tea was given in her honor at the home of Mrs. Thomas Malone. Here she was presented a beautiful silver bread tray, a gift of the hostess. Mrs. Kemper Lake and daugh ter Susan entertained at the Lake Home with a luncheon on May 10. A gift in her chosen china pat tern was presented by the hos tess. The bridesmaid’s luncheon was given by the mother of the bride, Mrs. William Otis Graham at their home, for 24 members of the wedding party. The wedding will take place on Friday, May 30, at 6 p.m. at Joanna Baptist Church. No formal invitations will be sent bat friends and relatives are invited. Miss Betty Black is spending a lew days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Black before re turning to the University ofSouth Carolina for graduation on June 1. After graduation, Betty leaves for Nantucket Mass, where she plans to spend the summer. Commencement, were honored at a dinner party given by Dr. and Mrs. Marc Weersing Saturday night. Others present at the elegant affair were the participants in the Commencement Program and honorary degree recipients. The centerpiece on the dining room- table was a silver and crystal epergne arranged with roses and pink stock. The focal point, especially for the Gover nor was composed of peaches and Carolina wrens. Their supper club enjoyed get ting together at the Mr. and Mrs. Reese Young’s home last week. Before supper the Frasers were ushered to seats, "his" easy chair tagged "President’s Chair" and “hers" a footstool - “President’s wife".
