Egg Hunt Held Jr */0 ^ An Easter egg hunt was held at the Clinton Moose Lodge on April 6. It was sponsored by the men j^nd women of the Moose. Baughn of Route 1 Clinton. Miss Lawson attended Wood ruff High School and Mr. Baughn is a 1966 graduate of Laurens High School. Both are presently employed by the Torrington Com pany in Clinton. The wedding is planned for June 29 at 2 o’clock in the after noon at the Yarborough’s Cha pel Methodist Church in Cross Anchor. Lewis-Alien Mr. and Mrs. Otis Jefferson Lewis of 105 Reeder Street, Jo anna, announce the engagement of their daughter, Robbie Ann, to Thomas Gary Allen of Central. The wedding will be Aug. 2 at Epworth Methodist Church. Miss Lewis, a senior at Win- throp College, will receive a B.S. degree in Special Education in May. A 1968 graduate of Wofford College where he majored in psychology, Mr. Allen serves with the Army at Ft. Benning, Ga. He expects to receive acorn- mission from officers’ candidate school in July. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Parker Allen of Six Mile Road, Central. Bride-Elect Entertained Miss Kitty Murchison, of Dill on, June bride-elect was enter tained with a luncheon on Sat urday, April 12 at the Wilson home. Her aunt, Mrs. John Fin ney, Sr. and Mrs. John Finney, Jr. were hostess. The buffet table was overlaid with dainty pink linen and organ dy. It was centered with a sil ver espergne holding an arrange ment of Japanese cherry, lilacs and iris in tones of pink to or chid. They were seated at small tables adorned with a minature nosegay of pastel colors in sil ver compotes. The brides place was marked with an all white nosegay of valley lily and violets. A gift in her chosen pattern of silver was presented the guest of honor. Out of town guests for the oc casion were friends and relatives from Newberry, Enoree, Spar tanburg, and Inman. The bride-elect and her mo ther, Mrs. Kathlee Murchison were weekend guests of Mrs. John Finney Sr. Flags Presented At the April meeting of the Stephen D. Lee Chapter of the UDC, camellias and an arrange ment of violets made a very at tractive setting. The members met at the home of Mrs. P. M. Pitts with whom Mrs. Keith A- dair and Mrs. Mary Adams were cohostesses. Mrs. Neve Workman, chaplain, (jpened the meeting with prayer while Miss Louise Kern, presi dent, presided over the ritual, the salutes to the flags, and the business session. During the evening Miss Kern presented in behalf of the chap ter a set of flags to Mrs. Jas per Rowland for use in the kin dergarten of the First Presby terian Church. Dr. Wag ner is a professor of instrumen tal music at Newberry College. Power Briggs in Charleston’s historic Hugenot church. He also heard the famous “Rubenstien*, who is now 80 years old, on his last tour. It was held in Town ship Hall Auditorium last Thurs day, April 10. He was accompan ied by his mother, Mrs. Gary Holcomb and Mrs. E. C. Bunker of this city. * * * Harry Y. McSween, Jr., who has recently received his mas ters degree from the University of Georgia, presented a paper entitled “The Partitioning of Transition Metals in Low Tem perature System* at the meet ing of the Southeastern United States section of the Geological Society of America, at the Wade Hampton Hotel last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry McSween, Sr. attended the meeting. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Etf Brubaker from Dayton, Ohio were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. T. Scogins Sunday afternoon. They also were guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carwell. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Reed have returned from a colorful two week trip to the Bahamas. They flew to Nassaw where they chartered a yawl and sailed to Exumas. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stallworth of Richmond took the trip with the Reeds. * * * Dr. and Mrs. James Walker treated their four boys with a trip to Washington during Eas ter weekend. * * * Tim Alexander is home from a Greenville hospital after fractur ing his arm.
