THE CHRONICLE, Clinton, S. C., February 6, 1969—3-A Parties Honor Bride-Elect Miss Betsy King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John William King, of Summerville, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Jacobs, Sr., has been extensively enter tained prior to her wedding to James Russell Oxford last Sun day. On January 18, she was enter tained with a coffee given by Mrs. Marlin Payne and Mrs. Jon Payne. The dining table was cen tered with an arrangement of white chrysanthemums and white cherubs. Miss King was given a corsage of white chrysanthe mums. Andrew Williams entertained many young couples with a bridge party for Miss King and Mr. Ox ford. After a number of rounds of bridge the couple was re membered with a silver bread tray, gift of the hostesses. The couple was entertained with a dinner party on Jan. 18 by Joe Pullen, Van Bullen and Mr. and Mrs. James Adams, Jr. Miss Carole Baker and Mrs. John Walters honored Betsy with a breakfast at the home of Mrs. Carl Baker. The dining table was centered with a silver can delabra in a silverfooted mirror tray, and held an arrangement of lily of the valley and bridal breath. The honoree was present ed monogrammed glasses and china in her chosen pattern. Mrs. Robert McWhorter and Mrs. Winston McWhorter enter tained on January 11, with a kit chen shower. Among the guests were former classmates of Betsy. The guests were served ice-cream molded in shape of wedding bells and petitsfour. On January 17, Mrs. H. D. Brown, Mrs. Hoyt Farmer and Mrs. James Adams gave a desseet bridge party. The house was decoratedwithpearl-studded hearts and wedding bells. Small pearl studded hearts were on each table. She was remejnbered *************** with a beautiful silver tray by the hostesses. Miss King was honored with a luncheon and lingerie shower bv Mrs. James Marks, Mrs. Din Ballenger and Mrs. E. C. Pes- terfoeld at the home of the form er. Each table was centered with a nosegay of yellow chrysanthe mums and ivy on a net and lace place mat. She received many gifts, and was presented a cor sage of yellow mums like the nosegays.
