Benoit, Nome, Tex., has re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at Cam Ranh Bay AB, Vietnam. Sergeant Benoit is a personnel specialist at Cam Rahn Bay with the Pacific Air Forces. The sergeant is a 1961 graduate of Hardin-Jefferson High School, Sour Lake, Tex. His wife, Betty, is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Mc Daniel, 211 Hampton Ave., Clin- Dr. Eichelberger Completes Course Army Doctor (Captain) John G. Eichelberger, son of Mrs. Barbara Eichelberger, 207 Wal nut St., Clinton, completed the medical service officer basic course at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Tex., Dec. 13. The five-week course provides basic branch training and orien tation for newly commissioned Medical, Dental and Veterinary Corps officers. Dr. Eichelberger received his commission through the Reserve Officers’ Trainirg Corps pro gram. He received his M.D. de gree in 1967 from the Medical College of South Carolina, Charleston. His wife, Kathryn, lives on Route 2, Raeford, N.C. * * * Uldrick Completes Advanced Training Army Private John K. Uldrick, 25, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude C. Uldrick, 301 S. Woodrow, Clinton, completed nine weeks of advanced infantry training Dec. 13 at Ft. Polk, La. His last week of training was spent in guer rilla warfare exercises. During his guerrilla training, he lived under simulated Viet nam conditions for five days, fighting off night attacks and con ducting raids on “enemy” vill ages. He was taught methods of removing booby traps, setting ambushes and avoiding enemy ambushes. Other specialized training in cluded small unit tactics, map reading, land mine warfare, com munications, and firing the M-16 rifle, M-60 machine gun and the 3.5 inch rocket launcher. Smith Finishes Storage Course Private First Class James A. Smith, 20, son of Mrs. Hazel Smith, 321 Gary St, Clinton, com pleted the ammunition storage course Nov. 27, at the U.S. Army Missile and Munitions School, Redstone Arsenal, Ala. During the 10-week course, he learned to receive, store, ship and issue ammunition, ammuni tion components and military ex plosives. He also received in struction in the destruction of unserviceable and irreparable ammunition and explosives. His father, Willie Smith, lives at 5632 Cedar Ave., Philadel phia, Pa. Through the efforts of the pub lic employment service, more than 110,000 disabled veterans were place in non-agricultural jobs in Fiscal 1967, the Labor Department reports.
