Mrs. Ab ercrombie plans to return home with her sister following her visit here. Mr. and Mrs. Cordell Sanders were in Spartanburg, Saturday to visit their daughter, Mrs. Frances Williams, a patient in the General Hospital following being in an auto accident on Fri day evening. Mrs. Mark Conner is spending some time with her son, Sgt. ‘‘Dickie” James and children at Ft. Knox, Ky. Visiting Mrs. J. W. Fuller dur ing the Christmas holidays were Mr. and Mrs. Bud Fuller of near Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Fuller and Mrs. Jimmy Sexton and son Drew of Greenwood, Mrs. Bobby Fuller and children of Spartanburg and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lee and children of Lau rens. Mrs. Alma Harvey spent the Christmas vacation with her son- in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Turner in Clarks ville, Ga. Mrs. Mary Fallaw has returned home after spending awhile in Clemson with her daughter, Mrs. Douglas Rippy and Lt. Rippy and children. M/Sgt Leon Abercrombie and son Rick of Satellite Beach, Fla. spent a few days last week with his mother, Mrs. Henry Aber crombie and other relatives. He will be leaving for a 30 month tour of duty in Okinawa on the 18th. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Gaskins accompanied their son, Frank, back to Clemson University Sun day. Miss Priscilla Gaskins, who was home from Atlanta, Ga., with Bill and David Gaskins spent Sunday in Augusta, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goss and family were recent guests of her mother, Mrs. G. W. Bowen in Wadley, Ga. Mrs. Cora Gaddy and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Taylor and Sherrill of Chester visited Mrs. Bo Brown and Mrs. Laura Darby, Saturday. Visiting the Brown’s and Darby’s on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Pete Wicker of Newberry and Mrs. Mary Patterson of near Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tram mell and children of Anderson spent Saturday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell. Harvey Shumate, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Shumate, Jr. and “Butch" Claude Grady Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Grady have enlisted in the U.S. Marines and are taking their basic training at Parris Island. Bynum Betts, D.D., former pastor of Providence ARP Church in Clinton, was honored by the congregation last Friday night at a family night sup per. Members of the Senior High Fellowship named their S u n d a y School Class for him. Miss Margaret Blakely, former teacher of the class, paid tribute to Dr. Betts and present ed the church with a bronze plaque for the classroom door. Reb. Ritchie FV, 23, whose mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Ritchie, lives at 502 Musgroye St., Clinton, com pleted a basic Medical Service Corps officer course Dec. 13 at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft Sam Houston, Tex. During the eight-week course, he received training and orien tation in a variety of military subjects, including military law, unit administration and manage ment, supply principles and pro cedures, and military preventive medicine. Lt. Ritchie received his com mission through the Reserve Of ficers’ Training Corps pro gram at Presbyterian College, where he received his B. S. degree in 1968. His father, James L. Ritchie III, lives on Route 2, Newport, NX. His wife, Judith, lives at 1116 Edgefield St. in Greenwood.
