Blakely have returned home from Spring- field, Va., after a visit with their son, Dr. Lee A. Blakely, Jr. and family. Mr. and Mrs. John Roseboro visited Mr. Roseboro’s brother, Mr. W. G. Roseboro and Mrs. Roseboro in Hamlet, N.C. for several days last week. While in Hamlet, they spent a few days at Cherry Grove Beach. Miss Sharon Plaxico, student at Columbia College, spent the weekend at home with her parents, Mr. andMrs. Tom Plax ico. Winthrop College students will leave the campus on Friday,Oct. 18 for mid-semester break. The holidays will end Wednesday, Oct. 23. Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie S. Mc- Millian returned on Tuesday from Little Rock and Prescott, Ark. where he visited relatives and friends. On the trip out they visited their son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie McMillian, Jr. and their family in Hunts ville, Ala. Mrs. Ethel R. Pitts spent sev eral days last week in Rock Hill with her daughter, Mrs. Wayne Jarvis, Mr. Jarvis and family. parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Hiers. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Finney and son, John, of Marion spent last weekend with his mother, Mrs. John W. Finney and other re latives. Mr. and Mrs. Granville Webb and children, Timothy Lee, Ken and Chris of Hampton, Va., spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bridges. They were here especially for the 10th anniversary of Mr. Webb’s high school class. Mr. and Mrs. CharlesG. Horne of Charlotte, N.C., spent Sunday with his brother, W. S. Horne and Mrs. Horne. Attending the Pioneer meeting of the life members of Southern Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company in Spartanburg Thurs day were Mrs. Joe Leake, Miss Florence Bobo, Mrs. Wyman Shealy, and Mrs. Louie Thorn- ley. The luncheon meeting was held at the Ramada Inn with John Fleming, and H. L. Lackey, president of the association, speakers for the occasion. The club’s project this year is sell ing shelled pecans which may be purchased at the local Southern Bell office. Proceeds will be used for assisting'the Visiting Nurses Association; for repairing talk ing books and cords at Cedar Springs, Home for the Blind and Deaf in Spartanburg; and the Boys Home of the South in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Seymour and sons of Aiken, visited friends here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Chaney and little daughter Sara LynnofGrif- fin, Ga., spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Chaney. Mr. and Mrs. Dial Hender son, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bonds spent the weekend in the moun tains of North Carolina. Funeral services were held last Wednesday for John Mc- Carley, of Glen Burnie, Md., who passed away earlier in the week at his home. Survivors include a brother, I. C. McCar- ley and two sisters, Mrs. E. W. Bonds of this city and Miss Ra chel McCarley of Whitmire. Mr. McCarley and Miss McCarley were in Glen Burnie for the fun eral. Mrs. Dorcas Nance is a pa tient at Bailey Memorial Hospi tal. Hondback Joins Ascoe Felts Co. Ned A. Handback has joined the Ascoe Felts Company of Clin ton as sales engineer, according to a recent announcement by Ken neth Fryfogle, president of the company. Handback joined Ascoe Felts after his graduation from the Uni versity of Georgia where he re ceived his degree in Marketing. A native of Clinton, Handback is married to the former M. Mur ray Addison, also of Clinton. K. D. FRAZIER Fraizer Named Shift Supervisor Kenneth D. Frazier, 400 Byrnes St. in Joanna, has been named second shift Supervisor of weaving in Joanna Plant No. 14 of Greenwood Mills. Frazier had been a loom fixer in the plant since 1965. He is married to the former Elaine Thompson, and they have a son, Todd, 3-1/2 years old. The family attends the Baptist church.
