Wrenn and Randy, Roger and Randy Brinkley, Di anne and Danna Mann of Water loo, Mrs. Gordon Davis and Donna of Laurens were Thursday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Walker in celebration of Mrs. Walker’s birthday. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Vander- ford of Union spent the weekend with their son, J. B. and Mrs. Vanderford and other relatives. On Saturday Mrs. J. B. Vander ford and daughters visited her mother, Mrs. L. H. Smith in Union. Mrs. Capers Gregory and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Gregory spent Sunday of last week in Green ville with Mr. Gregory and Mrs. Randolph Harris. Mrs. George Wilson of Mauldin was a Saturday guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams. Miss GloriaJackson of Atlanta, Ga., was home for the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Ezzie Miller and Mr. Miller. Mrs. Charlie James and Mrs. Charlie Harris visited the for mers sister, Mrs. J. B. Harper in Greer during the weekend. Mrs. Harper remains ill at her home. James Willis of Anderson visited with his mother, Mrs. Effie Willis on Friday. Mrs. Everett Summers and daughter of Chappels spent Sat urday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Wyatt. Miss Susie Meeks of Winthrop College in Rock Hill spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Frances Meek. Mrs. W. P. Terrell has re turned home after visiting with relatives in Georgia. Mrs. David Word and MissSue Word were visitors in Green ville on Wednesday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie James and family were called back to Greer Sunday evening because of the death of her sister, Mrs. J. B. Harper whom she had visited earlier. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cason Jr. and children of Cleveland, Term., spent the weekend with his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Fred Cason coming expecially for the Church of God homecoming. A number of Clinton relatives were in Union recently for the birthday dinner of Mrs. Joe Wright at the home of Mr. and • Mrs. B. F. Vanderford. Wallenzine her mother, received a broken hip injury in a fall last week. Mrs. W. L. Motte, Larry Motte and Ray Reeder visited Billy Motte in the Veteran Hospital in Augusta, Ga., on Saturday. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Atta- way in Saluda enroute home. On Monday the Attaways visited his sister, Mrs. Motte and Mr. Motte. TO ORDAIN DEACON Sunday evening at the Lydia Baptist Church, T. 0. Williams will be ordained as a Deacon of the church. The Mission Prayer Group of the Lydia Baptist W.M.S. will meet Tuesday evening. The Laurens Association Prayer Retreat will be Wednes day at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. REV. RINEHART Revival Scheduled Epworth Methodist A week of special revival ser vices will be held at Epworth Methodist Church at Joanna be ginning on Sunday October 13 and running through Sunday, Octo ber 20. The Rev. J. Leland Rinehart, pastor of Epworth since June 26, of this year will be the featured speaker for this special series of services. Rev. Rinehart is a graduate of Newberry College, and was pastor of the Hopewell and Sharon Methodist Churches at Kinards from 1953 until 1957. The Rev. Clifford Carter, pas tor of the Central Methodist Church in Laurens will be the song leader for the revival and also will present special mes sages in song. The public is invited to attend these services. The services begin each evening at 7:30 p.m. A nursery will be provided for parents attending the services who have small children. REV. CARTER Allen Serves Aboard Destroyer Boilerman Third Class George T. Allen, USN, son of Mrs. John W. Allen of 401 Shands St., Clin ton, is serving aboard the de stroyer USS Robert H. McCard in the North Atlantic in support of Operation Silver Tower. Operation Silver Tower is a large scale NATO maritime exercise with more than 100 ships from nine nations participating. Purpose of Silver Tower is to exercise NATO and national forces in their defense tasks on both sides of the Atlantic. Mrs. E. W. Mitchell’s birthday was Sept. 28.
