W. Bowen, who returned home with them for a visit. Mrs. Grace Nelson and Buddy spent the weekend in Ware Shoals with Mr. and Mrs. James Hem bree. Baby Amelia Summers, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Summers of Chappels and grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rabon W'yatt has been a patient in Bai ley Memorial Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Prue Waters and family visited their son, Mar ion Waters at Newberry College, where he has resumed his stu dies, on Saturday. The Waters family visited Mr. and Mrs. Wa ters’ mothers, Mrs. Mollie Wa ters and Mrs. Cora Lee Cox in Abl>eville on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lindy Barlowe and daughters, Mrs. Mary Bar lowe -and Larry Summers at tended the Carpenter reunion in Linville, NX., Sept. 1. J. C. Estes accompanied friends from Clinton to the Dar lington races on Labor Day. Mr. and Mrs. David E. Ro berts and family have moved from Clinton to Fairhope, Ala., where he has taken a position witli West ern Auto Stores. Mr. and Mrs. Major Crawford, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell, Malcolm Sanders, Andy Ellis, Mrs. David Word, Misses Sue Word and Cathy Weir, Mr. and Mrs. Hall King, Mr. and Mrs. Billy McGee and family were among the host of Clinton High fans from Lydia and Clinton at tending the football game in Georgetown on Friday evening. Mrs. Word, Sue and Cathy went on to Myrtle Beach for the week end. Miss Pamela Brown will leave during the weekend to enter For sythe Georgia Tift College as a freshman. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sharpe Jr. and son of Charleston, Mr. and Mrs. Casey Abercrombie and Mr. Wilbur Edwards of Green wood, Miss Leola Edwards of Ware Shoals, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Harris and Mrs. Mary Aber crombie of Laurens were among those here for the funeral of Fes- tus Harris last week. Mrs. Lucy Nash of Inman spent the past week with her sister, Mrs. Lewis Abercrombie. Spend ing Sunday with Mrs. Abercrom bie were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Arm strong of Gray Court. Mrs. Claude Pace and daugh ter, Miss Jean Pace and Miss Grace Brown of Hendersonville, N.C. visited the former’s aunts, Mrs. Hugh Ballard, Mrs. Mattie Harvey and Mrs. J. H. Crowe and their families on Sunday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. Reggie Halcomb of Spartanburg were Saturday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Moore. Mrs. Capers Gregory and Tom and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Price visited Mr. Gregory in Green ville on Labor Day. They all visit ed Mr. Gregory’s sister, Mrs. Nell Harris also in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. G. Mrs. Mack Harris accom panied Mrs. Susie Banks and Mr. and Mrs. Billy McGee and family to their families reunion in Georgia on Sunday. Miss Peggy Ballard entered Greenville General Hospital on Sunday. She was accompanied to Greenville by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballard and Rev. M. J. Sanders. SINGING On Sunday at 2 p.m. there will be a singing at the Lydia Church of God at 2 p.m. The public is invited - all sing ers or groups are invited to come and participate. Rev. Fred Cason, pastor of the church, says if you like good gospel singing to be there at 2 o’clock. BAPTIST-MfciTING The Associational Young Peo ples Meeting will be held Thurs day (tonight) at 7:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Laurens. All going from the Lydia church are to be at the church at 7 p.m. Refreshment menu - sand wiches, potato chips and cake. The Brotherhood of the Lydia Baptist Church will meet Tues day at 7 p.m. at the church and go to the Laurens County Home for a worship program.
