Negotiations are underway for Greenwood Mills to ac quire Fabric Services. A similar group of supervisory and staff employees will make the same trip Tuesday. Reeves were married at 4 o’clock on Saturday after noon, July 24 at the home of the bride’s parents in Honea Path. Miss Lillian Dillard left yes terday for a two weeks visit with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Salters, in Salters. Magdalene Leopard will be five years old August 15. Lewis Bagwell, Jr., has ac cepted a position with Adair’s Mens Shop. Mrs. Harry Bolick, Jr., and son, Harry, and Mrs. J. Reed Todd have returned from a vaca tion stay at Bon darken, Flat Rock, N.C. Mr. Todd also spent last week at 0ffiL£JaXken. Exchange Club Wins 'Big E' From National The Exchange Club of Clinton has won the BIG “E” Award for club excellence of The National Exchange Club, it was announced at the 50th annual National Ex change Convention meeting in Kansas City, Mo. The annual award is given to Exchange Clubs meeting the re quirements of efficiency, expan sion, and education. Lee Wells, Toledo, Ohio, executive secretary of the men’s national service club organiza tion, said 207 Exchange Clubs qualified for the award. Formal presentation of the banner and pins will be made later by a representative of the South Carolina District Exchange Clubs at a local club meeting. Lydia Mill News MRS. Fred Cason Jr. and Miss Leo Donna Hughes of Cleveland, Tenn. were weekend guests of the for mers parents, Rev. and Mrs. Cason Sr. Mr. Cason Jr. a senior at Lee College in Cleveland has received a $500 scholarship for Academic Excellence from the General Editorial and Publica tion Board of the Church of God. Having been associate editor of the Clarion the college paper, he is active in newspaper work at the college. He is also historian of the Torensies Club and officer in the Pioneers for Christ. Mr. Cason is presently em ployed by the Metropolitan In surance Co. in Cleveland. During the business session plans were made for a cook- out at the August meeting. A social hour was enjoyed with games and refreshments. July birthday ladies, Mrs. W. L. Motte, Mrs. Alma Harvey and Mrs. Sidney Oakley were pre sented gifts from their secret sisters. The class presented Mrs. Mark Conner a beautiful Bible with her name inscribed in gold as a going away gift, before her leav ing to make her home at Ft. Mrs. Bessie Brown was called to Greenwood on Saturday due to the death of her sister, Mrs. Emma Long Lavender. Mr. Fir man Brown, Mrs. Frank Walker and Mary accompanied Mrs. Brown on Saturday. Attending the funeral on Sunday were, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Bo Brown, Mrs. Hudson Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Furman Brown. Rev. and Mrs. M. J. Sanders attended the Army Basic Train ing graduation exercises on Fri day at Ft. Benning, Ga. at which their son Arthur was completing his basic training. Pvt Sanders is now at Ft. Leavenworth, Mo.
