Mr. and Mrs. Roy Franks and children, Vand and Tina, of Lowell, Mich, visited Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Balkham during the July 4th holidays. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lan- ford visited Gatlinburg and Lost Sea, Tenn. and also Gold City in North Carolina during the 4th of July week. Mrs. Clifton Heaton and child ren returned home Sunday after spending several days last week with Mrs. Barbara Wells and sons in Columbus, Ga. Mrs. Wendell Robertson of Greenville spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Heaton. Major and Mrs. Jack Spillers of Annan Dale, Virginia is spend ing a few days with, their parents, Rev. and Mrs. J. W. Spillers of this city and Mrs. Eddy Wilson of Laurens. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vaughn of Greenville visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Heaton, Sunday. Captain andMrs. BobFleming- Jones and son, Robert, spent a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Fleming - Jones in New Jersey and also spent a few days with Rev. and Mrs. J. W. Spillers before leaving this past Monday for Austin, Texas. Claude Farmer attended the Braves and Dodgers ball game in Atlanta, Ga., during the week end. Guest of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Farmer and Velda over the week end was Sgt. Walter Otbrish of Ft, Bragg, N.C. On Sunday Staff Sgt. and Mrs. Avery Tucker of Ft. Jackson were guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Samples. Mr. and Mrs. Travis McLen don of Davenport, Fla. visited Mrs. Georgia Trammell and Mrs. William Dominick, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Canthen of Greenville were Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. William Dominick. TRANSFERRED Private Michael Entrekin, son of Rev. and Mrs. J. Furman En trekin, has been transferred to Ft. Ord, Calif, to receive his A. I. T. Schooling. Mr. and Mrs. James Laney and children of Greenville spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Laney, and also Gary Laney of Furman University was there for the weekend. Mrs. J. B. Reeder visited her uncle, J. D. Roberts, in Ft. Mill, Sunday. Mrs. Ellie Reeder spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Reeder in Whitmire. Mr. and Mrs. D. 0. Freeman and daughter, Mr. J. D. Howe and children visited the Texas Hemisphere, week before last. Mr. and Mrs. D. 0. Freeman spent last week in the mountains of North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thomp son and children of Lancaster were guest of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Owens, recently. J. J. Owens attended the funeral of his brother-in-law, George Butler, near Saluda, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Heatherly visited Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Heath erly in Lancaster, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hilghes and Miss Bessie Holtzclaw at tended the wedding of Holtzclaw and Nalley in Greer, Sunday. Weekend guest of Mrs. Ada Center were Mr. and Mrs. Luke Fuller and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Sexton and son, Drew, of Green- wood. Mr. and Mrs. David Owens visited Mr. Owen’s sister, Mrs. James Craine, who is a patient at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, Sunday. E-2 James Edward Lyda left Saturday for New- York on route to Germany, where he will be stationed. Miss Emily Shelton and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Mann spent the weekend at Myrtle Beach.
