Lackey Heads Phone Pioneers At its recent assembly in Charleston, the South Carolina chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America installed H. L. Lackey of Columbia as president for the 1968-69 year. Lackey is assistant vice presi dent for Southern Bell. Another Columbian, M. A. Derrick, served as president during the 1967-68 year. Derrick is general personnel relations supervisor for the same company. Mrs. Olga Ray of Clinton is Group Representative for this area. The nationwide organi zation is composed of people who have served 21 or more years In the telephone industry. The 21 guests present enjoyed games and contests before being served delicious refreshments by the hostesses, Mrs. Lewis Bass, Mrs. Maxie Davis, Mrs. Lewis Howell, and Misses Flo Emery and Sylvia Estes. Mrs. shook received many nice gifts. A large number of ladles en joyed a party on Thursday even ing at the Lydia Community Building for Mrs. Everett Sum mer of Chappels. The hostesses who were friends of the honoree led the guests in several entertaining games before serving the group delicious party refreshments.
