Pitts St. Telephone 833-1028 The symbolism of a special color played a larger part in ancient ceremonial custom than it does today. One of these tra ditions is that the Bride shall wear white. In this, at least, we have continued to hew the line of ancient custom: An old superstition warns the Bride that she will be unhappy if married in black, and have bad luck if married in green, but “married in white, you’ve chosen right!” White has long been held to symbolize purity. However, be fore it denoted purity, it denoted joy, The early Romans wore white on birthdays and feast days. The ancient Pantagonians went even further --- they painted the whole body white on the eve of the Wedding! Dillard Boland, Jeweler, in their large assortment of Bridal accessories, know that white will be the Bride’s choice. And so, you will find their very refined and gracefully designed Bride’s Book --in white. You will see the white Prayer Book which she may carry. Even the little ring bearer’s pillow is white-- as are Hems for the reception --all in keeping with the traditional decor. And, since a Dillard Boland Bride is a “joyful Bride” — we enjoy offering her our many personal services. We shall ad vise on the engraving and proper wording for her announcements and Invitations. We shall be happy to serve her and help her com bine place settings of our beauti ful patterns of Sterling, China and Crystal so that she may have a preview of her permanent table ensemble.
