Extension Home Economist This is the 32nd consecutive year for the nationwide celebra tion of June Dairy Month the time for easy, breeze eatin”! Pour some milk in your thermos and tote it off with you on your picnic outing. Or to a beach party, a day on the beach, or out sailing, milk can make you feel terrific. A big glass of cold milk can give you the energy to enjoy it even more. If you add some frozen cubes of milk from the ice tray to your thermos jug of milk it will stay cold hours longer. Did you know there are more food nutrients in a pint of milk than a poundof beef, pork, poultry or eggs? Drink it straight or A-la-Mode. Know how to make milk A- la-Mode? You soften up some ice cream in a tall glass. Then you add your favorite flavoring - strawberry jam, chocolate syrup, grape juice - anything! Then you pour in lots of delicious ice cold milk. Add some big scoops of your favorite ice cream, and you’ve got the most delicious summer picker-upper and cooler-offer you ever tasted. ‘Poppy Days’ Total Given Contributions received during “Poppy Days* May 24-25 inClin- ton totaled $222.14. This is an annual project spon sored by the American Legion Auxiliary, assisted by the Camp fire girls. Officials of the project ex pressed appreciation for the con tributions and also to Leland Young, owner of the Broadway Theater, who allowed the Camp fire girls to attend a movie, free of charge. Mrs. Onn Graduates From Duke Dishie Delaney Onn of Clinton recently graduated from Duke University. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Delaney of Joanna, she received a B.A. degree, majoring in psychology. This fall, she will continue her education at the Uni versity of North Carolina. Her husband, Dr. David Onn, is a member of the UNC faculty. Mrs. Onn is a 1964 graduate of Clinton High School.
