Thomas, 60, of 462 Browning Avenue, Jo anna, died early Wednesday morning in a Clinton hospital after a year of serious illness. He was a native and lifelong resi dent of Laurens County. He was a son of the late William J. and Anne Lee Haulk Thomas. Prior to his illness he was employed by Greenwood Mills. He was a member of the First Bap tist Church, Joanna. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge 355 AFM and charter member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He is survivedby his wife, Mrs. L'mise Hanvey Thomas; two sons, Robert Lee Thomas of Joanna and John Earl Thomas of Clinton; two brothers, Jesse F. Thomas of Charlotte, N.C., Walter Lee Thomas of Laurens; one sister, Mrs. Roy (Helen) Rushton of In man; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be con ducted today, Thursday, at Ep- worth Methodist Church at 5p.m. by Dr. L. Byron Harbin and Rev. Ross Pickett. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetary with Ma sonic rites. Pallbearers are Ed Rigby, Edison Prater, Phillip Holmes, Cecil Farmer, Ralph Prater, Rudolph Prater. Gray Funeral Home is in charge f arrngements. Alvin Cox WALHALLA - Alvin Cox, 43, brother of Miss Frances Cox and Mrs. Roy (Kathleen) Harden of Clinton, died Monday morning at his home. Funeral services were con ducted Tuesday at Davenport Funeral Home with burial in Oconee Memorial Park with mili tary rites. Other survivors include his wife, a daughter, and another sister. Mrs. Ramage JOANNA - Mrs. Nelle Senn Ramage, 64, Route 2, Laurens, wife ol Mr. Walter B. Ramage, died early Tuesday morning at Greenville hospital after several months’ illness. Native and lifelong resident of Laurens County, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Blakely Senn and the late F. A. Senn, Sr. and was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband, one son Walter S. Ramage of Lake land, Fla., one sister Mrs. Roy Henderson, Greenville; two brothers, D. B. Senn ofWhitmire and T. A. Senn of Charlotte, N.C. and five grandchildren. Services were conducted Wed nesday at Gray Funeral Home. Burial was in Holly Grove Church Cemetery. Warren Wilson Funeral services for Warren Wilson of Greenville were held Thursday, May 30, at Young Lay men Temple CME Church. Burial was in Rest Haven Memorial Gar dens. He was the brother of Lafayette Wilson of Clinton. Other survivors include his wife and two sisters. Mrs. Long PROSPERITY - Mrs. Beulah Bobb Long, 77, sister of Mrs. Maggie Johnson and Astro Bobb of Kinards, died Thursday in a Columbia hospital Funeral services were con ducted Friday atBachmonChapel Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Other survivors include two daughters and three grand children. Mrs. Dunaway JOANNA - Funeral services for Mrs. Julia O’Shields Dunaway were held Monday at Gray Funeral Home with burial in Elm wood Cemetery in Columbia. Mrs. Dunaway, 85, of 204 E. Calhoun St., died Sunday in a Columbia hospital. She was the widow of Tom Dunaway. Survivors include three sis ters, Mrs. Anne Cole of Jack sonville, Fla., Mrs. Furman (Minnie) Campbell of Clinton and Mrs. R. L. (Robbie) Francis of Joanna; and a brother, William E. O’Shields of Joanna. George Nance George Nance, 65, died Sunday in a Washington, D. C., hospital. Funeral services will be con ducted Sunday at Fairview AME Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maiie Lee Nance; two daughters, Mrs. MinnieLeeGary and Mrs. Josephine Gary of Clin ton; a son, James Arthur Nance of Clinton; a brother, Dennis Nance of Washington, D. C.; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Jackson Funeral services were held Sunday for Mrs. Maude Chumley Jackson, 77, widow of Thomas J. Jackson. Mrs. Jackson died Fri day night in a Florence nursing home. Services were conducted at Gray Funeral Home with burial in Rosemont Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson was a native of Spartanburg County but lived in Clinton for 50 years before mak ing her home with her daughter, Mrs. Huber G. (Annie Lee) Wardlaw of Augusta, Ga. Other survivors include a step son, Weldon T. Jackson of Maxie Simmons ARCADIA - Maxie Simmons, 58, brother of Mrs. Martha Gre gory and Mrs. Sue Clevenger of Clinton, died Saturday evening in a Spartanburg hospital He was a native of Laurens County. Funeral services were con ducted Monday at Switzer Baptist Church near Woodruff with burial in the church cemetery. Other survivors include his wife, two sons, three other sister, three brothers and three grand children. W. A. Patterson Funeral services for Walter Arthur Patterson, 40, of Milam Road, Route 1, Clinton, were held Sunday at Bellview Baptist Church. Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery. Mr. Patterson died Friday eve ning at a Greenville hospital. A native of Laurens County, he was a son of Arthur and Pau line Blackwell Patterson of Clin ton. He was employed by Lydia Mills and was a Laurens County sheriff’s deputy. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Katherine Mitchell Patterson; three daughters, Betty, Donnie and Dianne Patter son of the home; a son, Waiter A. Patterson Jr. of the home; a sister, Mrs. Tommy (Faye) But ler of Gray Court; and three brothers, Marvin, Harry and Ernest Patterson of Clinton. L. T. Ramage Lafayette T. (Fate) Ramage, 81, of 608 N. Broad St. died early Saturday morning in a local hospital. A retired businessman, he was a son of the late Albert M. and Effie Madden Ramage. He was a member ofRockySprings Pres byterian Church and Campbell Lodge 44, AFM. Funeral services were held Sunday at Gray Funeral Home with burial in Rock Springs Pres byterian Church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dessie Shockley Ramage; three sisters, Mrs. T. Plus Brown of Lauresn, Mrs. Estelle Abrams of Conyers, Ga., and Mrs. C. A. Pecock of Columbus, Ga.; and two brothers, Walter B. and Pierre F. Ramage of Laurens. Mrs. Westbury ORANGEBURG - Funeral ser vices were held Friday for Mrs. Leona Smoak Westbury, 76, who died Wednesday, May 29, in an Orangeburg hospital.
