The County Eytension of
fice* carry information on a
great many subjects—in fact,
so many subjects We‘ find it
very hard to keep up with
it all., OUT secretaries- de
serve far more credit than
they receive in sorting and
keeping up with the material.
We have just received a
supply of a ver/ useful pub
lication entitled “Household
Insects.” This publication
was recently revised by En-
tensioh State Entomologist
W. Ci Nettles and his staff.
It carries information on ap
proximately 40 insects and
other pests of the home. It
covers ants, roaches, mosqui
toes, flees, ticks, clothes moth
ami of course many others.
Nature of damage, life cycle,
and control measures are in
cluded on each pest.
Another useful and often
called* for publication is Bul
letin 123 entitled “Growing
Fruits at Home.” This bulle-
ticn gives information on all
fruits grown in the state in
cluding strawberries. The
recommended varieties, ferti
lization, site selection, spray
.schedule and a great deal
more information is included
in the bulletin.
A circular Ih great demand
U numbered 480, “Care of
O.hamehtal Plants.” You
know it hasn’t been very long
when the old brush broom
v'aL used to sweep the yard:
and very little shrubbery was
used around the home. This
isn t the case anv more. Al
most all homes n*’W have a
lawn ’and ornamental plants
surrounding the house. This
bulletin gives information on
ornamental maintenance such
as pruning fertilization,
mulching, and etc. Also in
cludes selecting and planting.
These publications are avail
able at Ihe County Extension
Office if you want a copy.
There is another one that
is very timely that is avail
able to farmers and that is
the “Tax Guide.” This one
will be mailed to all the law
yers and others we know who
will fill out taxes for farm-
