Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Sin eath of Clinton were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Scott in Charleston. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Boyce of Fieldale, Va., en joyed the weekend with their parents, Mra. and Mrs. T. M. Boyce and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Johnson. ANNUAL DINNER On Sunday, Dec. 10, Mrs. Maggie Sutton and daughter, Alma entertained around 30 relatives and friends with a Christmas dinner at their home in Lamar. Attending from here were, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Boyce, Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Boyce and grand sons Roy and Don, Mrs. Cora Lee Boyce, O’Neal Boyce, Karen Lowery, Jeff Hogan and from Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Furr and Martha, Also, Mr. and Mrs. J.| E. Boyce, who were Saturday overnight guests of the Misenheimers in Chester, at tended with Mrs. Misenhei- mer and Mel joining them. CHURCH NEWS 1st PRESBYTERIAN On Sunday evening at 1:30 the youth of the church, dir ected by Mrs. J. K. Waits, will present a Christmas pro gram at which the annual Joy Gift iwll be remembered. Rev. Leon Jeffords is pastor. EPWORTH METHODIST Rev. Ross Pichett announc es a Christmas program to be given by the young people on Sunday evening Dec. 17 at 7 P. M. ti On Dec. 24 a program of Christmas music will be pre sented at the regular 11 a. m. worship service. Last Mondav J afternoon, Dec. 11 the Commission on Christian Social Concern gave a Christmas party for 100 ladies at the Allen Build ing at the State Hospital in Columbia. #lrs. Also at 6 p. m. prior the service, the annual church Christmas supper will be held. 1st BAPTIST CHURCH On Sunday evening, Dec. 3rd the ladies presented a radio narrative of the life of Lottie Moon. Taking part in the program were, Mrs. Ger ald Johnson, director, Mrs. Mary Lehman, Mrs. Harold Murphy, Mrs. L. T. Lawman and Mrs. Walter Byars. The adult choir and Rev. and Mrs. Byron Harbin en joyed a Christmas dinner on the evening of Dec. 8 at the Newberry Inn. SUNBEAMS On Monday evening in the Recreational Building of the 1st Baptist Church, the Sun beams and their parents en joyed a Christmas party. Mrs. Alice Davenport and as sistants Miss Karen Nabors and Miss Becky Willingham served delicious refresh ments. The Sunbeams alsoj brought their '‘Mission j Banks” for the Lottie Moon | Christmas offering for mis sions.
