This beguiling dish is at home at a simple family supper or a sunny lawn party. Mother needs only to marinate the juicy chunks of lamb in a flavor-special sauce beforehand, then slip the meat, cherry toma toes and fresh mushroom caps onto a skewer. They roast while family and guests relax. When done, place the Kabobs on a toasted hot dog bun and withdraw the skewer. Finish this out door special with a chilled leafy green salad and iced beverages. You’ll And these Kabob Sandwiches are an ideal dish to offer as a do-it-yourself entree — much to the delight of family and guests. Sandwiches suit a million purposes — and any pocketbook. They're a wise choice for a well-balanced diet, too, for enriched bread products contain generous amounts of three B-vitamins, thiamine, niacin and riboflavin, and the mineral, iron, all at very little cost. LAMB KABOB SANDWICHES 6 sandwiches Nobody thnks the cook yhould ever make a mistake. But because the cook has a few other eobligations lik cleaning, washing, ironing, playing with and caring for the children, shopping for food, clothing, and household goods — she might make a mistake once in a while. Be low are a few suggestions which might save the day for the cook who’s slipped up and made a mistake. If you burn the beans, quickly dump the part that isn’t stuck into another pan, and add fresh water to com plete the cooking. Don’t put fresh water into a pan where there is scorch; it will merely, ruin the flavor of the un scorched bits. When the fudge won’t fudge, you probably haven’t cooked it enough. Scrape it back into a saucepan, add a teaspoon or two of water, and cook and stir till it reaches the degree of doneness called for in the recipe. Remember that weather is a big factor in candy making. In a hot, moist atmosphere, it’s a good idea to cook candies to two degrees higher than usual. Kershaw County was the leading tree planting county last winter, as landowners planted 6,257,700 seedlings. QUICHE LORRAINE 1 lb. pork sausage meat, crisply fried an,d crumbled, or 3/1 lb. sliced bacon crisply f ried and crumbled 1 medium onion, cut in eighths 2 tablespoons meat drippings 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, cubed 1 tablespoon flour 4 eggs 1-1/2 cups light cream or evaporated milk 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg Heat oven to 375*. Set aside 1/4 cup of crumbled sausage or bacon. Sprinkle renjaHttler in pic shell.
