OinUn, S. C, Tti^rUay, Jdly Tt, 1*67 TB« CLINTON CHHONICI.E MRS. TAYLOR HUBBARD SMITH DOTSON-SMITH WEDDING RITES SOLEMNIZED IN GEORGIA CHURCH The wedding of Miss Yvonn o Diane Dotson and Taylor (Ty) Hubbard Smith, son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Francis Vin son Smith of Clinton was sol' menized on June 25 at the Walker Baptist Church, Mon roe, Ga. with Rev. Don Fuller officiating. The bride, who is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Ed ward Dotson of Monroe was given in marriage by her fa ther. For her wedding she chose a gown of Chantilly lace and taffeta which fea tured a panel of scalloped lace down the skirt, front and long sleeves with lace in serts. The Chapel train was also of lace. Her elbow length veil of illusion was attached to a crown of satin and seed pearls. She carried a white bride’s Bible topped with lily of the valley, stephanotis, and an orchid. The matron of honor, Mrs. IF YOU DON’T READ THE CHRONICLE YOU DON’T GET THE NEWS CALLING ALL HOME MAKERS By Charles Buice IDEAS FOR YOUR BEDROOM We are devoting two col umns—last week’s and this one—to ideas for decorat- i n g your bedroom. The bedroom seems to be one of the most difficult rooms for people to decorate—and that’s why we decided to use two colums instead of one. It en ables us to; pass along many inter esting s u g-; gestions b y the National Assn, of Bed ding Manu facturers. jSsAS*' L II I "placing your BUICE bed, there’s really no need any more to use the old-hat formula of putting it unimaginatively in the center of the longest wall. A bed will often look more attractive — and be more convenient—in anoth er location. Place it flanked by a pair of narrow windows, or directly in front of a large window (with a graceful drapery arrangement or window-frame serving in place of the headboard); or perhaps you can push it into a corner to create a pillow - decked, spacious reading nook for daytime. You can eliminate bulky end tables on either side of the bed. Light, slender ped estal tables or inverted wicker baskets can serve beautifully in their stead— and have a fresh, fashion able look. Wall hung light fixtures can replace large bedside lamps and such es sentials as the alarm dock or ash trays can be placed on a small shelf, mounted on the wall beside the bed, or even built into a multi purpose headbard. These are just some of the ideas for solving bed- room decorating problems. If you’d like to see lots of ideas in bedroom furni ture, we invite you to come in. We at Maxwell Brothers Furniture in Clinton have a large selection of bed room furniture for every need and budget, and don’t forget the importance of a GOOD MATTRESS TO COMPLETE the room. Teresa Cown of Mpnroe, wore a slender saki gown with a blue bodice and white skirt. Bridesmaids were Miss Linda Owens, Conyers, Ga.; Miss Lynn Tyson, Dalton, Ga., Mrs. Gail Queen, Clarkston, Ga. and Mrs. Carole Smith, Neptune, N. J., sister-in-law of the groom. Their dresses were also Saki gowns of pale blue with a scooped neckline, and accented with a Walteau panel. All attendants wore matching blue head pieces and carried old fashioned nosegays of assorted flowers. Miss Joy Colquitt, Macon, Ga., flower girl was dressed in white with a white net head piece. The groom’s father served as best man. Ushers included, Vinton Smith, Jr. brother of the groom of Neptune, N, J., Alan White of Calhoun, Ga., Ricky Colquit of Macon, da. and Harry Y. McSween, Jr., of Clinton. Master Tina But ler of Monroe was ring bearer. Steve and Donna Conquit of Macon served as acolytes. Wedding music was pre sented by Mr. and Mrs. David L. Johnson. A reception followed the cererrtony. After the wedding trip the couple will reside in Athens, Ga.
