David T. Pitts, Jr. spent the Thanksgiving holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Pitts. Thursday Mrs. Carter Wright and sons, Steve and Buddy and Miss Mary B. Tinsley went to Monroe, Ga. to celebrate with Mr. Carter Wright his birthday. Mrs. George Franklin, and Mrs. Herman Gordon and daughter, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Carter Wright and family. Former Resident Dies After Illness Round O—Mrs. Minnie Gru ber Rumph died Thursday at the Colleton County hospital N after an illness of five days. Funeral services were held Friday at 3:00 p. m. at St. Matthews Baptist Church near Grover, with the Rev. Randall Baker in charge. In terment was in the Murray cemetery near Grover, di rected by the Fred Parker Fureral Home. Mrs. Rumph was born in Colleton County on May 26, 1884. and was a daughter of the late Oyen G. Gruber and Maria Ackerman Gruber of Colleton County. She was a charter member of the St. Matthews Baptist Church, and first president of the Woman’s Mission Union, and served as president for 18 years. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. J. M. W’estbury of Round O; a brother, J. W. Gruber of St. George: three sisters, Mrs. O. C. Weeks of Sumter; Mrs.. P. T. Utsey and Mrs. J. E. W’estbury of Charles ton; a granddaughter, Mrs. W’illiam (Faye) Smoak of W’alterboro. Mrs. Rumph formerly lived in the Hurricane community near Clinton. OFFICE SUPPLIES CHRONICLE PUB. CO.
