C. Mr. and Mjqj;. George W. Lyons and little son, Marc P r e s s 1 y, of Spartanburg, spent the week-end with Mrs. Lyons’ parents, Dr. and Mrs. Marc C. Weersing. On Sunday Mrs. Weefsing, Mr. Lyons and Gene Wilkes visited Bar ry Weersing at Parris Island where he is stationed with the U. S. Marines. Miss Betty Mae Baldwin returned this week to St. An drews Presbyterian College, Laurinburg, N C., after spending the past week at home. Dr. and , Mrs. Mack Poole of Spartanburg, spent Sunday with the former’s mother, Mrs. M. C. Poole. Leslie and Mark Poole spent the week end with their grandmother. Rev. and Mrs. R. H. Free land of Brunswick, Ga., are spending several days this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Thomas. Major and JVIrs. Chris Patte and children, Amy and Ed ward, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edouard P^tte at La Gradelle, their Pine Street residence. Major Patte will arrive Monday at -Saigon, South Vietnam, where he will begin his duties with the “Big Red One,” the First Infantry Division. On Tour In Russia Mr. and Mrs. John H. Pitts of Albany, Ga., visited Mr. and Mrs. Henderson Pitts last weekend. John left Monday for Moscow, U. S. S. R., with an agricultural people-to-peo- ple delegation to visit several iron curtain countries. Awarded Scholarships Mr. and Mrs. Judson Breh- mer and Mr. and Mrs. Forest Adair attended the Greenville News-Piedmont Annual Honor Carrier Banquet at Sulphur Springs, Paris Mountain State Park in Greenville on Monday evening when their sons, Larry Brehmer and Forrest Adair were awarded scholarships for their services as paper carriers. Miss Julia McKee returned Monday to Due West to as sume her new duties as Sec retary to the Dean of Women at Erskine College having spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. McKee. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin W. Stewart of Malvern, N.
