Wysor, Sr., on Tuesday, March 1, at 4:00 p. m. Rollins-DeBruin Announcement Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Rollins of this city announce the en gagement of their daughter, Cynthia Jane, to William De Bruin Jr., of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Presbyterian Col lege. Miss Rollins is asistant to Dr. David T. Mixon. Mr. De Bruin is a senior at Presbyterian Col lege. The wedding is planned for June 4. Luncheon Given For Bride-Elect The Wrangler Restaurant was the scene of a lovely luncheon last Saturday when Miss Rosemary Abrams, bride- eltct, was honored by a num ber of friends. The Valentine njotif was used for the table decorations and also the luncheon. Miniature Valentine corsages were pre sented each guest. The honor guest was presented a corsage of white carnations and also a cake knife in her silver pat tern. Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. Bernard Nabors, Mrs. Mack Brown, Mrs. Walter Waits, Mrs. Virginia Gamer, Mrs. R. G. Wrenn, Mrs. T. A. Abrams and Mrs. Arthur League. , Mrs. Delmor Rhame Entertains Club Mrs. Delmar Rhame compli mented members of her bridge club Thursday with lunch fol lowing several progressions of bridge at her home on West Walnut Street. As members assembled they were invited Into the dining room where lunch was served buffet style. Adorning the buf fet table was an arrangement of pink tulips. Two party tables had been appointed in the liv ing room where guests were seated. At points of interest in the living room, spring flower arrangements were used most effectively. Later in the afternoon, the party tables were arranged for bridge. Following several pro gressions, Mrs. George Brocken- brough, \ Sr., and Mrs. Ansel Godfrey were score prize win ners. Hampton Avenue P. T. A. To Meet The Hampton Avenue Parent- Teacher Assocation will meet on Tuesday, March 1, at 8:00 p. m. in the school auditorium. “Ways and Means of Local Support for Public Schools” will be the topic of the eve ning’s program. Speakers for next week’s meeting will be James L. .Bro- die, Reassessment Supervisor of the South Carolina Tax Com mission, and Larry Ingle, leg islation chairman of ‘the local PTA. Parents are urged to attend. Officers For Lakeside Ladies' Golf Assn. Announced New officers for the Ladies Golf Asociation of Lakeside Country Club were elected at a recent meeting and will assume office March 1. They are — President, Mrs. Collie W. Anderson; Vice Pre sident, Mrs. George R. Blalock; Secretary (Laurens) Mrs. L. L. Pugh; Secretary (Clinton) Mrs. C. W. Copeland; Treasurer, Mrs. Roger Yike of Laurens. The Clinton members will be hostesses for the first meeting of the new year, Tuesday, March 1, at 12:30 it has been an nounced. ( Garden Clubs To Meet Next Week The Yellow Jessamine Gar den Club will meet Monday afternoon, Feb. 28, at 3:30 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Ralph Copeland on Pine Street.
