C„ Thursday, November 4, 1965 Preliminary Work Begins lor Christmas Seal Sale Campaign Volunteers for the Tuberculosis and Health Association are in the midst of preparations for the Christmas Seal Campaign. The campaign which is organized with a chairman, William A. Gardner, of Ninety Six, and two co-chairmen, George H. Cornel- son of Clinton and G. Wirron Wil lis of Laurens, opens officially on Tuesday, November 10. Mr. Gardner stated that local committees will publicize the campaign through special events and educational displays, as well as through news items and radio broadcasts. Members of the Greenwood Chapter of the National Secre taries Association have assisted in compiling the mailing list for the appeal letters. Address la bels were typed by students of Clinton, Hickory Tavern, Ford, and Laurens High Schools. The address labels were af fixed to the envelopes at the Greenwood School District office on Thursday by 61 ladies work ing under the direction of Mrs. W. F. Mauldin. Fifteen of the volunteers were residents of Ninety Six, 14 were Enoree Church Plans Revivaf The Enoree Free Will Baptist Church, Enoree, will hold a re vival beginning November 8 to which the public is invited, ac cording to an announcement to day by Rev. Gene Ramsey, pas- tor. Services will be conducted by Rev. J. C. Franks of Black Moun tain, N. C., and will begin at 7 p.m. . —r from Ware Shoals, 33 were from Greenwood. According to Mr. Gardner, the appeal letters and Christmas Seals will be placed in the en velopes and prepared for mailing' by 120 volunteers working under the direction of Mrs. Ralph L. Waldrep on Tuesday, Wednes day, and Thursday at the Lau rens E-Z Living Center. The first xeminders will be pre pared on November 20 by Mrs. Lewis S. Hay and a group of Clinton Campfire Girls. Mr. Gardner said that the Tu berculosis and Health Associa tion expects to mail approxima tely 22,000 Christmas Seal letters. He expressed hopes that the 1965 receipts would surpass the 1904 total of $20,286.34 so that the as sociation can expand its program to eradicate tuberculosis and control other respiratory dis eases.
