A native of Laurens County, son of the late J. O. C. and Carrie Todd Fleming, he was educated in Laurens city schools, Davidson College and Hampton- Sidney CoUege in Virginia. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in the Army, and was chairman of the Laurens County Red Cross many years. A charter member and past pres ident of the Laurens Rotary Club, he was a director of the Palmetto Building and Loan As- sociaton and a member and elder of the First Baptist Church. He was the last member of his im mediate family.
