Mrs. William Patterson and children will leave by jet from Travis AFB October 8 to make their home on Guam for two years. S. K. 2 William Patter son is serving on the USS Koiner which will be based there. Mr. Patterson is the son of Mrs. Bill Patterson and the late Mr. Patterson of Musgrove Street. Mrs. Ernest Graham spent last week with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Gibson in Westminster. Mrs. Bill Terry and daugh ter, Jo Carol, visited Mrs. Ter ry’s mother, Mrs. D. G. Jack- son, in Columbia Sunday. Miss Lee McCall of Winthrop College, Rock Hill spent the, week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. McCall. Mrs. Thelma Kidd and Mrs. Clyde Brazill were called to Charlotte, N. C., last week due to the death of the former’s nephew, Troy Thompson, who was killed in Vietnam. The body is being sent to Charlotte. Mrs. Doris Davis and son, Terry, of Laurens* visited Mrs. Roy Leathers and daughter Friday. Mrs. Roy Blackwell and son, Brian spent Sunday in Whit mire with Mrs. Blackwell’s mother, Mrs. Ida English. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Norton vis ited Mrs. R. L. Yarborough in Woodruff Sunday. Mrs. Bobby Wooten and Mrs. Evelyn Simmons visited Mrs. Estelle Birch and Dewey Ox- ner last week in Self Memo rial Hospital, Greenwood. Johnnie Price recently re ceived a promotion to Airman First Class. He is stationed at Shaw Field, Sumter. Miss Velda Farmer attended the state YWA meeting at the Crescent Hill Baptist Church in Columbia Saturday. Mrs. Lillian Trammell and Nancy, Mrs. Lola Russ, Mrs. Lydia Todd and Mrs. Lois Nel son and children attended homecoming at the Free Will Baptist Churuch in Gray Court recently. Mr.: and Mrs. George Price and Ale John Price, Mrs. Price visited their mother and grand mother, Mrs. J. L. Messer, in Del Rio, Tenn. and also visited n Gatlin burg, Tenn. COMMUNITY NEWS The Blue Birds and Camp Fire leaders and sponsors started their year with a din ner on September 22 at the Community House. Guests were: Jim Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Muller, H. E.
