Bishop of Tampa, Fla., were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. James Fulmer enjoyed the company last week end of their Son Cpl. Larry Ful mer of Camp Lejeune, N. C. His wife and son, Randy, returned with him for his extended four months of service. He has been in service four years. Over the > past week-end their other son, L-Cpl. George Fulmer, Mrs. Ful mer and Evonn, of Beaufort, vis ited them. MBS. LOVELACE HONORED Mr. and Mrs. Harley Barnes, Perry and Virgil Barnes enter tained their aunt, Mrs. Minnie Lovelace, oh her 85th birthday on September 7 at the office of Ponderosa Homes in Kinards. Refreshments were served to the group. On ssturning home, Mrs. Lovelace found lovely flowers from Mr. and Mrs. Er nest Barnes, Mr. and Mrs. James Barnes and from Barcraft Homes in Laurens. The surpris ed Aunt Minnie expressed her heartfelt thanks to all who had part in. making her 85th birthday such a happy one. ' ENJOYS N. C. BEACH Mrs. O’Merria Wicker and Philip, and Mrs. Peggy Kelly and children enoyed last week- 4 end at Moorehead Beach in Moorehead City, N. C. Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Beckom were Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Barton and son, David, of Anderson. Mrs. Betty Barnett and chil^ dren of Union were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bolick. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Strickland of Ware Shoals, were last Sun day guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Poag. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Cole vis ited Mr. and Mrs. Bascom Hem bree and Miss Annie Putnam were In Gray Court last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Huffstet- ler, joined by Mr. and Mrs. John Tarrant and children of Colum bia, spent the week-end touring the mountains of North Carolina and spending thit night with Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Miller in Cullo- whee. ENTERS COLLEGE On September 7th Bill Bishop entered Georgia Military Col lege in Milledgeville. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Bish op. RECENT SKATING PARTY The Junior Girl Scouts of Jo anna enjoyed a skating party recently. It was held at the Pal metto Recreation Center in Clin ton. A group'of 20, including a few guests, enjoyed the occas ion. Going along with the group were Mrs. Ruby Long, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell Long and Mrs. Mims. SURGICAL PATIENT Mrs. Joyce Shepherd returned the first of the week after under going an ear operation at the Medical College in Charieston on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Coleman and children of Abbeville, visit ed the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Holcombe, on Sunday. Mrs. Holcombe is a patient at the local hospital. Mrs. Roy Boyce and Karen Lowery spent the week-end in Sumter with Mrs. Lizzie Yates, other friends and relatives. Vernon Jacks of Elizabeth, N. J., spent the first week in Sep tember with his brother and sis ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Jacks, other friends and rela tives.
