(Shorty) Snelgrove, 71, died late Thursday night at a Greenwood hospital after several years of declining health and a week of illness. A native of Saluda County, he had lived here since 1928. His parents were the late John M. and Olivia Charles Snelgrove. He was a member of Broad Street Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife. Mrs. Pearl Hawkins Snelgrove; four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Clark, Mrs. Edith Bryant, Miss Zula Snelgrove and Miss Mildred Snelgrove of Clinton: a brother, B. B. Snelgrove of Clinton; a sister, Mrs. Ottaclee Perry of Saluda; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were con ducted Saturday at 4:00 p. m. at Gray Funeral Home by Rev. Jesse Stephens. Burial was in Rosemont cemetery. Pallbearers were Gus Earl, Ralph, Edward and Bob Nelson and James Penland. WOMAN’S CLUB HAS MEETING The Lydia Woman’s Club met Thursday evening for the regu lar session at the community building. Mrs. David Word brought the devotional thoughts after open ing the meeting. An informal meeting was held, with discussions on several plans of the club. The June meeting is planned as a health program when one of the nurses from the health department will be the guest speaker. During the social hour Mrs. E. C. Burdette, Mrs. J. T.
