Stump and daugh ter, Allison, and Mrs. Stump’s mother, Mrs. Hasel D. Allison, spent fhi week-end in Mrs. Alii, son’s home town, Pine Bluff, N. C. On Saturday they attended the May Day Festivities at Var- dell Hall in Red Springs where Mrs. Stump’s daughter, Nancy, was May Queen. Mr. Stump at tended the May Day Exercises at Wnthrop College in Rock Hill where another daughter, Mary Bart, was a sophmore attend ant in the festivities. ATTEND CLASS REUNION Dr. and Mrs. George R. Bla lock and Dr. Delmar Rhame spent several days last week in New York City, going especially to the 35th class reunion at Co lumbia University. Mrs. Delmar Rahme spent several days last week in At lanta, Ga., with her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Donald Rhame. Mrs. Hugh Eichelberger was home for the weekend from Asheville. Joining*her was/her daughter, Miss Barbara Eichel berger from the University of South Carolina, and also her son, John, student at the Medical Col lege of Charleston. Mrs. Roy Smith of Charlotte, N. C., spent the week-end with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Roscoe Buzhardt. RETURNING TO FLORIDA Mrs. T. C. Johnson will return this week from St. Petersburg, Fla., where, she spent the winter months with her sister. Miss Elizabeth White. Sullivan this week are attending the 25th reunion of his class at the Medi cal College of South Carolina taking place during the annual meeting of the South Carolina Medical Association at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. George D. Walker and Miss Oriena Cartledge of John ston, were Sunday guests of Dr. and Mrs. James L. Walker and family. Mr. and Mrs. Walker Yonce of Johnston, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Galloway in their new home in Pitts Mead ows. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Ducker of Macon, Ga., spent tile week-end with Mrs. Ducker’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Carter, coming especially to attend the Watts- O r v i n wedding on Saturday. Philip Carter and family of Spartanburg, joined them for the day Sunday. HOME FROM WINTHROP Miss Elizabeth Glover and Miss Rose Ann McCrary were among Winthrop College stu dents home with their parents for the week-end. Mrs. Robert E. Wysor has re turned from Kinston, N. C., where she visited her daughter, Mrs. John Jordan, Mr. Jordan and family. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Swift Des Moines, Iowa, arrive Tuesday for several weeks visit with Mrs. Swift’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Thomason. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Marion Nabors over the week-end was Mrs. Nabors’ sister, Mrs. J. D. Henry of Montgomery ,Ala. Mr. and Mrs. John H. An derson of Atlanta, Ga., spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Harrison. VISITORS FROM FLORIDA Dr. and Mrs. Vernon Craw ford of St. Petersburg, Fla., were recent guests of Dr. and Mrs. George Bellingrath. Dr. Crawford was pastor of the Un ion Church in Kobe, Japan, for several years before his retire ment. The Bellingraths visited them in Japan last sprnig. Dr. and Mrs. L. Carroll Wat ford and children, Mike and Debbie, of Forence, spent the week-end with Mrs. Watford’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Burts, coming especially to at tend the Burts reunion held at Ware Shoals. J. W. Milam of Ridgewood, N. J., spent the week-end with his sisters, Mrs. B. B. Ballard and family, and Miss Kate Milam. Mrs. J. S. Dantzler of Elloree, and Billy Ballard, and his Clem- son University, classmate, Jeff Lewis, joined them for the week end. HERE FROM GERMANY Mr. and Mrs. George Schmidt of Ippstein, Germany, arrived April 10 to spend a year with their daughter, Mrs. Joel B. Cantrell of 107 Young Drive. Seri 1 g ant-Major Cantrell, who was recently .promoted, left April 26 for Greensboro, N. C., where he has been transferred from the ROTC unit at Presby terian College, to the A and T. College ROTC program. His family will join him in Greens boro June 4. Mrs. Rosco Buzhardt has re turned from a few days visit with Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Buz hardt in Ninety-Six. Mr. and Mrs. Bill WUson of Clemson spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Low ery Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Turner. Miss Amy Lou Black of Con verse College will leave Thurs day to spend the week-end at Yale University in New Haven, Conn., to attend College Week end Festivities. C., spent the week-end with their grand mother, Mrs. R. C. Stewart and Mrs. O. B. King. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Long and children, Anna and Luther of Newberry were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Werts. In the afternoon they were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Frank'Dukes. Mrs. Emory Hipp and sons, Mark and Steve, of Prosperity, were guests Tuesday of Mrs. W. S. Werts. 6sheb Airman A1C Bee Henderson, Mrs. Henderson and three child ren were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lykes Henderson and Mr. and Mrs. Fuller Reese, his brother and sister, on their way to his new assignment in Lare do, Texas. The B. Henderson’s have been in England, where he was stationed for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Copeland of Statesville, N. C. spent the weekend with Mrs. Copeland’s mother, Mrs. R. J. Copeland, Mr. Copeland came especially for the reunion of the class of 1945 at Clinton high school. Friends of George Corley will be interested to know that he is improving at Self Memorial Hos pital, Greenwood, where he luys been a patient for the last month following an accident in Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Snelgrove visited Mrs. Shelgrove’s brother, Henry Martin in Asheville, N. C. last Sunday. VISITS MRS. Broad 83S-1487 Area Nurses Attend Training Conference Public health nurses through out South Carolina attended a training conference on the Im portance of Nursing Practice in Tuberculosis in Columbia on either April 27 or 28. The nurses were joined by the executives of the tuberculosis associatiins. Because all nurses and local TB executives were expected to attend this in-service education meeting, duplicate sessions were arranged for the two days. Nurses attending from the Laurens County Health Depart ment are Mrs. Minnie Lee Clark, Mrs. Annie Waldrep, Mrs. Mar tha Lawson and Mrs. Barbara Shealy. Nurses attending from the Greenwood County Health De partment are Mrs. Sue Milford, Miss Betty Wardlaw, Mrs. Ce- cile Sprouse, Mrs. June Smith, Mrs. Wilma McCall, Mrs. Nita Flowe, and Mrs. Ruth Allender, who is supervising nurse.
