Tommy Hol combe spent Sunday at Fort * Jackson, Columbia, with the formers’ son, Pvt. Max Hol combe. Mr < ( and Mrs. Boyd Smith and Roger of Bamberg, were week end guests of the latter’s sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Earl ' Sineath. On Sunday they all 4 spent the day in Rock Hill with Mr. Smith’s brother and sister- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Lou McMurry and daughter were guests last Monday of Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Chalk. Mrs. McMurry and daughter remained for the week, returning on Saturday to their home in Swains boro, Ga. Bill Taylor and son, Jimmy, were in Bluefleld, Va., on Sat urday. Mrs. Tickle accompanied them after an extended visit here. Mr. and Mrs. Otis Murphy and Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Murphy vis ited Mr. and Mrs. Bobo Estes in Enoree on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Smith of Blacksburg, were last Sunday visitors of his brother, Ernest Smith, and Mrs. Smith. Mrs. S. D. Weathers is visit ing Mr. and Mrs. Landrum Weathers in Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Jenkins and Sue and Mr. and Mrs. El mer Bennett were in Atlanta, Ga., over the week-end visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Jenkins and family, and also Tommy Jenkins, a student at Massey College. Mr. and Mrs. William Gowan and other relatives from Buffa lo and Glenn Springs, were Sun day visitors of Mr. and Mrs. James Douglas. HONORED ON BIRTHDAY On Saturday, Luther Poag was honored with a surprise birth day dinner. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Strick land of Ware Shoals; Mr. and f Mrs. Ralph Carter of Farming- [ ton, Mich; Mrs. Nellie Poag and j David of Whitmire; and Mr. and ■ Mrs. Charlie Cole. Guests later in the evening Pwere Mrs. Sheila Poag and daughter, Dawn, of Baltimore, Md . FINAL PTA MEET The final meeting of the Jo anna Parent-Teacher Associa tion will be held in the school cafeteria on Tuesday evening, April 30, at 7:90. The new offi cers will be Installed for the 1905-66 school year. All parents and civic-minded people are in vited to attend. HERE FROM VIET NAM Airman 2C Joseph Chalk, who has just returned from Viet Nam and Okinawa, spent last week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Chalk. He re turned to Viet Nam for three months duty. PUCKETT RECIVE8 DISCHARGE Pete Puckett returned home last week from Fort Bliss, Tex as, after receiving a discharge following 0 months service. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs: W. E. Puckett, and a member of the local National Guard unit. REVIVAL SERVICES The spring revival will be held at Epworth Methodist Church April *19-24 at 7:90 each evening. The evangelist will be Rev. Will Rogers Jr., of the Buffalo Meth odist Church, with Mrs. Rogers speaking on Wednesday eve ning. The music will be furnish ed by a different group each evening. Monday night will be the Whitten Village choir. Tues- d a y and Wednesday nights, groups from Clinton High School, under the direction of Mrs. Frank Gilfillan. Thursday night, W. W. Willingham, and Friday night, Bruce Galloway. Every one is cordially invited to attend these services. PARTICIPATE IN QUIZ The Christ Ambassadors of the Joanna Assembly of God participated in the Sectional Teen Bible Quiz conducted at Honea Path April 5. The group emerged winners and will com pete in the State Jamboree to be held in Oolumbia May 1. Team members are Gene Reed er, Johnny Jones and Connie Jonerff with Kaye Thpmas and Fannie Whitlock servmg as al ternates.
