Mr. and Mrs. Bill McMurray and children, Bobby, Cathy, and David of Black Mountain, N. C., were recent guests of the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Loftis. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Reed and children of Logoff, were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ice land Young. Mr. and Mrs. Reed will move on December 28 to Altoona, Pa., where he has taken a position as chap lain with the Cresson School and Hospital for Mentally Re tarded Children. Homer Huggins, of Tampa, Fla., was a guest last week in the home of his sister, Mrs. S. B. Loftis, and Mr. Loftis. Mrs. Pearl Putman, a sister of Mrs. Loftis, Joined them for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Danny Lewis were visitors in Moncks Corner recently, going especially for the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lewis on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ousts and daughters, Tina and Lisa, left last Thursday to spend the holidays with the latter’s pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Rushton, in Memphis, Term. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Moore spent the week-end in Rome, Ga., with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Payne, and also visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom M a u n e y in Cleveland, Ga. Roily Bannister, Jr., spent the holiday week-end with Mrs. Roily Bannister, Sr., in Mount- ville. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fak- kema are spending Christmas in Lynchburg, Va., with Mrs. Fakkema’s mother, Mrs. A. C. Thomas. Mr. Fakkema will go from Virginia to attend a conference in Pella, Iowa, where he will direct the recrea tion activities. Mr. and Mrs. Hershell Brown of Spartanburg, spent Christ mas Eve with the latter’s pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Franks, and her grandmother, Mrs. Platt Prather. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell J. Franks of Asheville, N. C., spent the past week-end with the former’s mother, Mrs. Platt Prather. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Adams of Raleigh, N. C., spent the Christ mas holidays with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie McMillan, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. William Hatton left yesterday for a visit with friends in Florence. Mrs. J. Lee Young of Greer, spent several days at her home here recently. Mrs. G. E. McGrew of Cam den, visited several days re cently with her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. O’Daniel. Clements and Mrs. Clements in Charleston during Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Brown and children of N. Augusta and Mr. and Mrs. Ike Ray of Atlan ta, Ga., visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tan Ray during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Shai- ble of Charleston, are visiting Mrs. Schaible’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Bridges. Dr. Marshall W. Brown re turned Monday from a several days stay in Washington, D. C., where he was on business. While there he visited a former Presbyterian College graduate, John Osman, who is a patient at the George Washington Hos pital. Ronald Wells spent the Christmas holidays in Holly wood, Fla., with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Paullin and Miss Linda Paullin. Mr. and Mrs. Kitt R. Mc- Mas ter and daughter, Ellen, and son, Kitt, Jr., of Winns- boro, spent last Sunday with the latter’s mother, Mrs. Hugh Simpson. Mr. and Mrs. George E. Sim mons of Charlotte, N. C., spent Thursday with the latter’s aunt, Mrs. Hugh Simpson. David Beaty and Richard Copeland, who were stationed at El Paso, Texas, with the U. S. Army, have returned home following six months of active duty. Husbands and wives should know that love is foot something solid and constant like a stone, but more like a fire which, un less it is fanned, has a way of go ing out. How about looking back over the year and listing some of those who have done you special favors and courtesies. That list may include your employer or some of your employees. Now’s the time to pass out some of the flowers. This brings to mind some favorite lines by Burton Braley, entitled, “Do.It Now.” “If with pleasure you' are viewing, any work a man is do ing; If you like him or you love him, tell him now! New Year, coming hard after Christmas, gives us an opportunity to look back over the year ofr other omissions. I’m thinking particularly of friends and loved ones to whom we should have extended appre ciation, kindness and love. The place to start this is in the home circle. I am not talking about the material gifts which were given and exchanged at Christ mas time. I’m speaking of dem onstrating and expressing love and appreciation.
