Horne and attended the wedding of their niece, Miss Corine Horne, and Jerry Charles Adams which took place Satur day at the Caldwell Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Gene Stockman recently visited her sister, Mrs. W. M. Meggs, and Mr. and Mrs. Har- oid Stockman in Florence. Visiting their mother, Mrs. Ines Pruitt, dring the holidays were Phillip S. Pruitt of Jack sonville, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Pruitt and children, Frank and Rachel, of Stanley, N. C.; and Mrs. Clyde Ramsey and Keith L. Pruitt of Whitmire. RECUPERATING IN NEW YORK Miss Virginia Sadler of New York was discharged from the New York University Hospital on Wednesday and is convales cing nicely at her home. Her mother, Mrs. R. E. Sadler has been visiting her for some time. They are expected to return to this city in the very near future. Dr. and Mrs. Rufus Sadler and Dr. and Mrs. E. N. Sullivan at tended the Army-Navy game in Philadelphia last weekend. Miss Susan Turner, student at Winthrop CoUege spent the holi days with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. William Redd Turner. FORMER RESIDENT PASSES IN N. O. A former resident of this city, S. C. Rowe died in Nebo, N. C. on Saturday, Nov. 21. Funeral services were held in Marion, N. C. While residing in this city, Sgt. Rowe was a member of the Presbyterian CoUege MUitary De partment.
