Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sexton vis ited their daughter, Diane, at Wlnthrop College in Rock Hill Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C.. J. Johnson and son of Columbia, were last Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Johnson, Sr. +1 Mrs. Ida Fowler of Dallas, Tex as, is spending several weeks with her daughters and famil ies, Mr. and Mrs. John Burnett and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Sommer. Johnnie Moore and sons visit ed his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Moore .in Rembert over the week-end. Mrs. Moore, who has been there for two weeks, re- toraed with them on Sunday. Birthday greetings are sent to Sallie Chalk, Sheila Snow, Louis Murphy and Tina Morris today, October 1. On Friday the same wishes go to Roger Banks and Ferrellyn Long. Roxanne Bodie will have a birthday on Saturday. Sunday Mickey Banks and Marshall will celebrate birthdays. Monday, Sept. 5, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dominick will observe a wedding anniversary, and Karen Long has a birthday. Happy birthday on Tuesday to Martha Ellen Abrams and Larry McC arson. HAROLD AUSTIN. CUrrvxpondrnt NEW PASTOR ARRIVES „ The Rev. and Mrs. John H. Turner and sons, Mike and Joel, moved last Thursday to the par sonage of the Cross Hill Baptist Church. They came from the New Hope Baptist Church at Mauldin. Rev. Turner preached his first sermon September 27 at the Cross Hill Baptist Church. Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Martin of Greenwood, were recent visitors in the home of Mrs. B. L. Mitchell and Miss Charlotte Mitchell. MISS SIMPSON HONORED Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Simpson honored their daughter, Miss Sue Simpson, on her 16th birth day with a party at the Mount- ville Grange Hall Saturday eve ning. The guests enjoyed games and dancing. ' Around thirty - five friends from Spartanburg, Greenville, Owings, Greenwood, Mountville and Cross Hill enjoyed the oc casion. Birthday cake, punch, mints and nuts were served.
