Leon and Tammie Hedge path, Bud, Larry and Shirley Cogdill, Myrtle and Darrel Whitsel spent a few days at Myrtle Beach recently. CLASS HAS COOKOUT The young people’s class of Bailey Memorial Methodist Church had a hamburged cook- out on Saturday, August 15, at the Bill Cauble home on the lake. Members and dates enjoyed games and refreshments. OWENS AWARDED DRIVER’S BADGE 7th Infantry Division, Korea (AHTNO—Army PFC. Flynn F. Owens, whose wife, Dollie, lives at 62 Marion St., Joanna, S. C., was awarded a driver’s badge July 31 for attaining a high de gree of skill in the maintenance and operation of motor vehicles while assigned to the 7th Infan try Division in Korea. Owens, a construction special ist in Company B of the Divis ion’s 13th Engineer Battalion, entered the Army in April 1963, completed basic training at Fort Gordon, Ga., and arrived over seas in September of last year.
