Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kirby of Long Beach, Calif., are visiting her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Gosnell. Mrs. J. M. Bozard, Mr. and Mrs. Derr ill Bozard, Martin and Margaret attended the Bozard retmion on Sunday at the Evatt cottage on Lake Murray. Mrs. J. M. Hatton, Miss Effie Lou Godfrey and Mrs. Sara Pitts joined Mrs. Frances MsCrary of Clinton for a trip to Greenville on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Hogan Fuller of Avon, Conn., are visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Gus Cannon, Mr. Cannon and other friends and relatives. Other company on Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Lee McCloud of Sumter, who also visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Boyce while in Joanna. Miss Jo Anne Elliott of George town Mrs. Eugene Craven and Gaye and Mrs. A. S. Holt were in Greenville the latter part of the week. Jo Anne will make her home there where she will be employed. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Moore and sons are vacationing for a week in Rembert with Dr. and Mrs. Moore. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Troupe of Bamberg, who have been visit ing the Sineaths, returned to their home for a week. Darine Sineath enjoyed the week with them. Mrs. Roy Boyce and Mrs. Le ona Bates spent a few days last week in Sumter, Lynchburg and Lamar with friends and rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Tew of Fayettevile, N. C., visited Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Summers last week-end. Pvt. Earl Holt of Fort Jackson, was home also. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phillips spent the day on Friday in Greenville. On Saturday their daughter, Mrs. Russell Dean, and children of Blackstone, Va., came to spend the week-end with them. Mr. and Mrs. D. R. McCarthy and children of Aiken, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Willingham atnf family of Rock Hill, spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. J. F. McCarthy. Mrs. Ester Nelson and Mrs. Floyd Madden of Clinton, visited Mrs. Mary Fuller on Sunday. Mrs. Edward Kirby of Lau rens, and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Kirby and children of Green ville, were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kirby. Miss Ruth Hair returned on Sunday after a two weeks visit with Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Echols in Columbia, La. While there she also visited Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Brockner in Beaumont, Texas. Mrs. Echols, who is a sister of Miss Hair, returned with her for a week’s visit. Mr. and Mrs H. M. Elliott joined Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Hig ginbotham in Anderson for a fishing trip and picnic on Hat- well lake Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bragg join ed Mrs. J. H. Wallenzine and Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Moates of the Little River-Domiaick com munity and spent Sunday in Aik en with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bragg and family. Guests of Mrs. Lavinia Cooley over the week-end were: Mrs. Charles T. Ross, Bety Timms, and John Ross of Burlington, N. C.; Mrs. Bryce T. Little and Miss Roseanne Little of Char lotte, N. C; Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Hair of Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. Hyde Young and Mrs. Lester Hair attended the Ricbey-Sloan wedding on Satur day evening at the Upper Long Can Presbyterian Church in Ab beville. Miss Richey is a niece of Mrs. Young. GOING-AWAY PARTY On Saturday afternoon a group of young people gathered at Mrs. Pet Moates’ home on Browning Avenue for a party given by friends, with the honored guest being Ellen Newman of Ashland, Ky. They played games and enjoy ed the refreshments before Ellen opened her nice gifts. She has been visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Elliott, for several weeks.
