William Stone arrived yes terday from Houston, Texas, to join Mrs. Stone and children, Debbie, Henry, Ronald and An drea for the week here with Mrs. Stone’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell, with whom she has been visiting the past seven weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Stone and children will reutrn to Houston this week end. The Stones visited her brother, Kenneth Trammell, HNS, USN, and Mrs. Trammell at Cherry Point, N. C., two days this week. The Rev. and Mrs. Roscoe Bryan and family, accompan ied by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Johnson of Hodges, have returned home after vis iting the Johnson’s daughter and Mrs. Bryan’s sister, Mrs. Edward Kuhn, and Mr. Kuhn in Chicago, HI. They also visit ed several points of interest while there and enroute. Miss Sue Word spent the week-end of July 10-12 attend ing the MYF conference at Co lumbia College, Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. David Word went to Columbia to accompany her home Sunday. Eddie Reeder of Joanna, spent a few days with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Motte, last week. The* Rev. W. B. Cause of Ab beville, visited the Rev. and Mrs. I. N. Pierce Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballard, Misses Marion and Peggy Bal lard with their guests, Mr. and Mrs. Dock Bennett of Chicago, HI., spent Friday at Maggie Valley and Cherokee, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams visited her son and daughter- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Drake and family in Spartan burg Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Phipp.s, Rhonda Phipps, Mr. Mrs. Charles Rice and children, Stan and Deb, visited Chimney Rock, N. C., Sunday. Miss Sue Word is spending the week at Cherry Grove Beach with Mr. and Mrs. John Bledsoe and Miss Kathy Bled, soe of Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. James Seay of Greenville, were guests of the formers’ sister, Mrs. Clyde Trammell, and Mr. Trammell Saturday and Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Vander- ford and daughters, Darlene and Sheila, Harold Fleming and Trudy Davis visited the Rev. and Mrs. L. W. Black in Pendleton Sunday. Miss Davis, of Union, is visiting the Van- derfords. Mrs. Ernestine Huskey and sons spent the week-end in Aik en with her niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Cooper. Frank Goss an dsons attend ed the Cheek reunion in Elber- ton, Ga., recently at the home of Mrs. Joe Cheek. W. H. Patrick of Kingsport, Tenn., is visiting his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Jones. Mr. and Bias. Calvin Cooper and Becky. were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Cooper and Mrs. George Wade in Great Falls. Becky remain ed for the week with her grandparents, and Francis Cooper was already in Great Falls with his grandparnete. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper visited Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Cooper, Jr., in Columbia enroute home. Mrs. Frank Goss and Jerry spent a few days last week with her mother, Mrs. G. W. Bowen, in Wadley, Ga. The Goss’ son, Gary, is home after attending summer school at Clemson University. Guy Parrish is at home from the General Hospital in Green ville. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. METHODIST BIBLE SCHOOL Vacation Bible school will be held July 27-31 at the Sandy Springs Methodis tChurch each morning from 9:00 to 12:00 noon, and is for the Lydia Methodist Church young people as well as for Sandy Springs. The Rev. Dean Sawyer is pastor of both churches. Sue represents the county as win ner in the 4-H chicken barbeque contest and hes entomology as her project. Mary will give a demonstration on “Even Hem lines” and Betty will be attend ing as vice president of the coun ty 4-H Council. The Rev. and Mrs. Roy Coker and children spent last Thursday with relatives at Commerce, Ga. James Chapman and daugh ters of Ashville, N. C., are visit ing Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Lea- man.
